Your work is copyrighted by the website for you. placing writing on the portrait won't stop anybody coping them. I have painted 1000's and I sign mine on the back, anyone wishing to copy mine can, as I have no problem with it if you produced mine as yours, by the copying process it becomes different. What does it cost us, on this site they check for plagiarism. You will earn nothing from them, I know one of mine was used by another artist, just altered enough to escape the law. I feel such a complement that I’m so good they have to copy my work.

Sometimes, when I see stolen work, I try to think like you... it's because people are very good but I think that when it happens to us it's different... at least it is to me, I'd be pised of with that, I hate people that stole others work. Can't they just be original and try to do by themselves?
Originality is a thing in the mind if two people draw the same photo then they will be similar, if not duplicating each other. The question of intellectual copyright in art is not relevant if we wish our work to be just ours, then lock them I a vault, If we wish it to be seen it will be copied watermark or not. I always put a spot on them, someone will copy them no matter what you do. Be more relaxed about it if I saw a great singer and sung a song if someone imitated me I would take that as a complement.
ok, it's your viewpoint but I still think the same... watermark, watermark, watermark... it's not because I think I'm the best and everyone will want to copy my work, it's because I love what I do and don't want anyone to have the credits for what gives me a lot of work.

well, I went to check the meaning of the portuguese name Madalena ('cause it's similar so maybe the meaning is too)... and it means "the city of the towers" or "the one from the brushed hair" ok that's weird... anyway, Ester it's rare in Portugal too, altough not so rare as Estera in Poland
Good work I don't put watermark and someone add my Avril work on deviantart, I report her and she is bannished. Now I'm thinking about put on my works watermarks.
I'm starting to use watermark 'cause I'm always watching stolen work and thinking "what if that happens to me?"... of course that you'll always know that is YOURS but it's still sad to see that things happening...
