Stallone is such a comic character, I think this one came out more like an illustration than an actual drawing... but I was still happy with it in another vein AND I'll take a Dufy comparison anyday!!!!!
I wish! I got no buyer. I got no prospects. I got no plan. I got nothing! ...but still ...'Every mornin', every evenin', ain't we got fun! I WAS thinking about blowing the heads up big, cutting silk screen stencils and air-brushing them but that's huge work ... I hate cleaning screens.

Oh, to revert back to simple life!!! ... sigh - one problem with the current world is we're all so busy cluttering up our lives with materialistic junk we've forgotten how cool simple was. Well, dear JohnO, I have no idea what a silkscreen is --- let alone how to clean one. There's no art school in Nam so my chance of ever finding out just how to do what you do do so well, is near zilch!
aww...charitable of you to say so Jaeanzy. Thank you so much! What I do best (not that you could know it from what I post here) is pictorially & verbally communicating to writers, illustrators, photographers, filmmakers, etc., what direction is needed for an advertiser. It's generally a far cry from a portrait. I just wanted to see if I could actually capture a likeness "by the rack o' the eye" and to see if I could still draw at all! I've taught a few clever people how to do it far better than I do & we're still friends! Silk scrrening is easy to devine and you can then publish small editions. It could be part of the 'simple life.' I've been throwing stuff out like mad since 1990! That is some big dune ya got down there!
... You have lead a fulfilling dream life, completely enviable I have to say. The nearest I ever got to advertising was recording "Market Place" in the studios at "RBCTV" - Rhodesia Television, -waaaaaaay back in the days when Uncle Noah summoned the landscapers in to plant vegetable gardens on the ark in order to secure good dietry content for his passenger load during their round-the-world cruise. Television was a blissful life for me. Nam is a backward (by first world standards), but cultured country, not as barbaric as some African states can be. We do not have the same opportunities that you Americans, and the rest of the west have - but we have other things to be grateful for. Like our giant sand dunes f'rinstance. I cannot begin to describe the gloriousness of Sossusvlei. I could go on for hours about Nam and Zim (my 2 countries of residence in my lifetime) .. but i won't bore you any longer
No dummy!!!! I was behind the scenes, ... If I'd been in front of the camera I think there would have been riots in Rhodesia and everyone would have refused to pay their tv-licences. Do they have tv-licensing in the States? You Americans are lucky because you have everything you could possibly want to see all in one country. I reckon the answer to the African continent would be The United States of Africa ... but then of course the inevitable struggle for power would ensue and every tribe would end up annihilating every other tribe ... so that's a pretty shit idea so we won't even go there. Catch up with you later. Don't expect much from my "Peanut" ... he's just cute, but that's it. I'm going to snooze now ... nitie-nite
