As promised, here is your "shock treatment" my friend, jpolous... i did not use watercolor paper, but this is exactly how i draw with watercolors.... any tips how i can improve? Or is my style fascinating enough? i am a big girl, i have a fast car, you can tell me!
si, i know de nada... and "da" means si in russian! it can get confusing if you speak too many languages... eg in dutch, there is a word which means cat... de poes and if you say that here in RSA..... get ready to be slapped!
sorry not laughing at you, Jeanette also did not understand the other day, what i meant with "wuffless"... i said it meant speechless in doggy language... ok, i am going to watch a movie with Viggo in it tonight, called Eastern Promises... he is an undercover agend and working with the russian mafia... and Viggo fix... is like my Viggo medicine...
OH YESSSSSSSS and he bought all the horses he worked with, that Stallion in Lord of the Rings and the Hidalgo Horse too! i had a horse like that too, maybe thats why Viggo is also so special for me, he likes Horses...
You know, when I was a little girl, other all normal children(my friends) wanted to be a doctor, a teacher, an actor, etc... only little Lanka dreamt to be a horse how much I loved horses!
That is so sweet!!!! you wanted to be a horse!!! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah i will send you a pix of me and my horse, Supersal, she has not been on this site, remember her? She is very sick she wants to draw me and my horse... so sweet of her...
Oh Lanka, i got confused here, i said thank you to you in portuguese, so sorry... my head is somewhere else so i told Paulo spasibo tebe... oh dear, i am getting super old!
Ye tibia liubliu my sweet Kratoska!
cute, i have so many great nicknames! Bigsis from Paulo, BigGirl from Lanka... John calls me Breeze and JR calls me Biggsy... and others too... Oh i just want to hug you ALL!!!
Hiya Breeze! The only thing I know for sure, you've already guessed. Watercolor paper is a must... or you could use double thick, hot pressed, illustration board with a medium tooth. Your style is thoroughly fascinating and you certainly don't need any advice from me. I once knew a great artist who told me to 'keep drawing.' Meaning not only to practice, but also to draw as you apply color, tone and shading.
I understand traditional water colors can be all about layering - building intensity and nuances of depth and form with under & overpainting. Or you could go straight for the aniline dyes, get ferocious color, and a one ounce bottle could last 10 years. You've done a fine job here. Your glass is very glassy and the puppy ... well, it's just precious. You'll have to teach me a thing or two. I don't do precious well at all. I'm an abstract expressionist at heart. So, if I did this piece it would be all messy and splotchy and no one would know who the heck it was.
Wow you really think????? i mean, oh i am like blurting my words here while i write this... i want to say a sentence too fast and start swallowing my tongue here, hehe' i'll take all your GREAT advice and practice... you mentioned something about the paint... aniline dyes, that could also be a big factor! i use cheap school watercolor paints... i did not realise you get all sorts of fancy watercolor paints too! no wonder i paint the walls and furniture too if i try to make those fancy blotches like you do! i truly love your style, to me it looks like you are DRAWING, when i look at my style, it looks like i am a bit afraid of drawing.... guess thats the way i am then, a more of a softy... no rugby for me then! just driving little miss daisy... bit hat with flowers in, a soft shawl around the neck... pretty driving gloves... a floral print dress.... omg... i am freaking out with laughter here!!! cause there goes Breezy again! ...
See you give me GREAT advice! Donald Duck set... Breezy likes that! if i could make duck sounds via smileys now i would! youre so funny! But i prefer eating real food, i don't lick my paint brushes...
And that's the way, unh-hunh, unh-hunh, I like it! Hey again Breezy Kid - excuuuuuse me - BiggsGirl - love ya, mean it, but if you don't like this advice (I hate giving advice to artists, it's always wrong) dial 1-800-BRAINFREE, I'll bet he's written an excellent tutorial.
NO i want YOUR advice! i am being a stubborn little girl here with piggy tails! lip pushed out and looking at you sideways, as i fold my arms! its like your uncle Sam says: i want you! Biggsy... Breezy wants you!! You gave me great advice, if i feel like watercoloring again, i will keep Johns advice in mind, because i like what you told me!
Awwww. But please remember all advice to an artist is wrong. Writers, you can talk to. But not much. Artists must learn for themselves how the materials should be pushed and how the rules should be broken to suit what they are trying to say. If you impose what works for you to the exclusion of experimentation & at the expense of beautiful, naive expression .... well then, you've been bad & must not pass go & not collect squat!
... said the wise man! i hear yah! has anybody told you lately you ROCK?! Well you do! And i fully understand, guess i just needed to rephrase then the word advice to guidance?.... does that sound better to you?
Thanks baby! I try to keep that wide-eyed, why not? thing going. "When the baby looks around him, it's such a sight to see, he shares a simple secret with the wise man, He's a stranger in a strange land." Leon Russell via Albert Camus & of course Herman Hesse & Steppenwolf! Rock on yer own self!!
wow, that is so beautiful , i recognized her as soon as i saw it
so so beautiful hair and clothes and of course i love the cute dog
backgroung is really creative too , very beautiful colors , really great , my fav
Hullo there my friend! Thank you so much. i tried something new, i am not too clued up with watercolors, but a wise friend told me, not too long ago, i just have to go and do it! and practice and practice...
i fell in love with the puppy too, is he not gorgeous, i used to watch Lipstick Jungle and thought Lindsay had a fascinating face. Thank you my friend!
John (jpoulos) is also a great guy, he really rattles my cage and keeps me going, so witty and funny and half of the time we just talk a lot of great bull...
mooi portret van hierdie pragtige meisie met die klein honde in haar arms, glas is 'n uitnodiging om te drink saam met jou, baie geluk, ek hou van jou, bring' n groot dag, ek soen my sterk liewe geliefde suster Biggsy
Dankie my dierbare sonskyn suster! Ek is nie baie gelukkig met my manier van waterverf, maar ek het my eie styl ontwikkel en so stadig maak ek vrede daarmee... ek het natuurlik nie 'n waterverf papier gebruik nie, dus die dat die agtergrond ook so "gewobble" lyk
