This is good! I kile your understanding of high contrast and dark DARKS! Too bad the phot is not more clear. That is another thing I had to learn to do. Read how here: ricksdrawings.blogspot.com/2009/01/self-portrait.html PS, for the person to get your "thank you" reply, you need to click the REPLY link next to each comment, other wise, they don't get it :)

Excellent, Although I paint I drew for 50 years this is a very good drawing with great skill I think the words of JRFortson below are the way to go. For me the principle of all are made by our hands is light and dark or contrast. I would give one little thing which is eye white should be just a little lighter than any shine this will if undertaken leave you the ability to put shine even into the eye white. I moved to paint to improve my darks the lights were Ok but darks can't be achieved with pencil no matter how dark it is a struggle with paint but achievable. Well done I will look in every now and then If you wish ask questions about my work I will be happy to help you. Remberber one thing about using half the face the light side should have tone as to bring a little face lighting in. Brian my nicknames brainfree. :8)
