Jojemo, i think he rocks! i recognized him IMMEDIATLY! He has a very gentle expression, makes one feel safe and comfortable! i truly like your Portrait!!!
Thanks, Biggs. I am glad you recognize him, because I don't. There is something about my portrait of Rock that isn't quite right, but I can not put my finger on it. Joyce
Joyce, ah that is a lovely happy name! Wow, i think most of us are like selfcritics... i often don't like my Portraits at all, but others like it, then i just accept it... By the way, i found two "K Hunters" in Johannesburg...
Here are their Tel.numbers: 011 782 0844, 65 2 St Linden, Johannesburg, Gauteng, RSA and 011 782 6214, Second St Linden, Johannesburg, Gauteng, RSA.... the 011 is the number for Johannesburg, i don't know what number you have to dial from US to RSA, but if you do, then the 0 before the 11 falls away... Cya!
Thank you, Anne-Marie, but you are much too kind and generous. It is certainly NOT a masterpiece! Some day I intend to draw Rock Hudson again, and hopefully I will come closer to the mark then.
Thank you, Lanka. I had a hard time getting a likeness of Rock. His eyes were giving me a lot of trouble. I finally gave up, and submitted this drawing. Sometime, not too long from now, I will try to draw him again.
You are welcome, dear Joyce! I can`t see anything wrong with his eyes! They are perfect!! Be sure you`ve done very, very good work!!! Have a nice day, dear Joyce!
Thanks, Helen. I am much happier with my drawing of Rock, than I was. Ed and I are going to Ft. Worth, TX Friday morning. We will return Sunday evening. I am still packing.
Hi Jojemo ! you did an excellent work with this portrait, I like especially the way you drew the hair and the eyes, but the clothes are also very well done.
I'm suprised that there are not more portraits of Rock Hudson, a great star and a courageous man, I remember that he was one of the first celebrity to reveal he had AIDS.
Thank you, didgiv. I was surprised there are not more portraits of Rock Hudson, too. He made a lot of good movies. Yes, you are right about his having aids, and being the first celebrity to reveal it. It took a lot of courage to do that, but I suppose, since he was going to die from it, he knew people would find this out anyway, so he would rather be the one to tell them.
Thank you, Chantal. You are too generous. Yes, Rock was charming and he did give us many great movies! Unfortunately, he was more of a man's man than most of us realized.
