Thank you, Thank you, I wanted to paint her again as I saw something in the photo I had not seen before, the emotion and sadness! I hope I managed to capture this look. I think she like your favourite Barbara she was an icon of beauty and acting ability. Unfortunately Barbra was unable to show that to the world only her voice is immortal, whereas Audrey’s image will like Marilyn Monroe’s will go on forever.

My work is about content and different.
very beautiful
well it's obvious that she is sad , those tears show her emotions and her eyes , her mouth which is open kind a brings it out too , you just have to find that
beautiful glossy lips , i am always impressed how you do lips and eyes and how you chose colors , it's so interesting to watch your portraits there's something more than just a beautiful portrait
beautiful cold blue too
Thank you, that’s very observant of you I must have done my job well if you can see that. As far as the colours of lips I have a formula I work one tone lighter than I first think of so I look at shadow and place that first the a slightly lower tone and then a light tone three always three.
Inside the mouth I used the same formula but I always add orange I have a light and dark orange it depends on the shadow again.
The blue is my under colour I start with here it needed nothing apart from painting a little over the top of the ear. It's funny because the top of the ear was the most difficult to do! and it shows very little on the scan painting. On the real one it shows depth and translucentness a big word meaning see through look. Your Art appreciation is excellent now, you pick out the things I think of when painting. Isn't it better than just saying very good or good because you learn from my thoughts.
Thank you, I like your work to you have good likeness skills in both your paint work and pencil work. Practice always practice I do every day even now sometimes I still try before doing a new technique.
Thank you, for me it’s between her and Marilyn Monroe for my favourite, only now am I being able to paint them the way I want to. It has taken 5 years of paintings to get to her look.
Thank you, I like your pencil work, you need to show a little more light in your faces, but your likeness skills and construction of faces is excellent. Well done.
Thank you, Tears are difficult when you start doing them, but done once they become easy, it's to do with the choice of flesh tone and whether the light falls on the area, where they are going to be. My first tears were on Duffy and I did not get the face tone right, like here so it takes thought as we draw the first drawing to study the light and plan it before the application of paint.

I have repeated what I have said to Jeanette only to add about the eye colour I wanted to bring more light into the Iris so I pulled light blue through the white shine but kept then black apart from that. I was to show the under colour in her eyes. I love painting it's so satisfying and it give great pleasure.
Thank you very much for explanation, Brian! this portrait is really extraordinary! I've never tried to draw a face with tears, but now I'll try it being based on your method
Brian,
Thank you, I like your gallery, you don't pick easy subjects to draw. I'm a little unwell at the moment. I will add you to my favs and come back and give you a few tips.
Thank you, I love drawing or painting Audrey she was very beautiful and has inspired some great art work here I wanted to give it clear and play with the veil a little. Still a bit unwell at the moment (flu) hoping to paint a little today I have about 20 unfinshed pieces all started then left till I feel better. Brian
Thank you, from one great artist to another. When I was younger my greatest wish was to be able to draw or paint things as I saw them it has taken 50 years to finally get my wish but the aim is always to be better still learning still listening and practicing. A true artist makes people weep or laugh with pleasure I still strive for this. brainfree.
