You are very welcome, my dear Emano. You honored me by dedicating your Urs portrait to me. This was the very least I could do for you. I am pleased that you like it. And I am happy to learn that you are a girl. We have similar tastes in men, it seems. Both of us admire Richard Armitage. What is it about him that interest you most? I like his dark hair contrasted by his blue eyes, his sideburns, large nose, and those sensual lips. Men that possess looks like that, have always grabbed my attention. But I married a man with blonde hair and blue eyes, and we have been faithful to each other for 53 years.. Go figure. I will try to draw R.A. again, sometime, but it will be on smooth paper next time. I have not gotten used to drawing on rough paper.     :hi: :hi: :hi: :hi: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:        :cute:

Thanks, Emano, for telling me about this website. I spent quite a lot of time looking at the pictures on it. Some of them may help, but most are not sharp enough when blown up to a larger size. Great for browsing through, though. I also checked out RA's biography, and read some things on the Armitage Army forum. I will return to this site again....in the coming days. Again, my thanks for telling me about it. Joyce

I hope you do not mind, but I passed that website along to another member on this page....see "Biggs" below. I also checked out Dido's website. I listened to most of her songs and I liked them. She is easy to listen to, sort of like Norah Jones and Diana Kroll. I will look for her CD's.

Please accept my sincere apologies, Emano. I am very embarrassed. I do not know where I got the idea that you are a male. Maybe it has something to do with your name. It does have the word "man" in it. I know that some languages mix up the pronouns "he" and "she," but I know better than to do that. Again, I beg your forgiveness. Joyce      :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:  :)

oh my dear Joyce I am not bother , because we are friends & for more explanation there is no relation between Eman & the word man , This name is used as a feminine name in Usually , Although it is rare there are males with the name of Eman. you can call me Eman if you like . :cute: :cute: :cute: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:     :cute: :hi: :)

Tis very kind of you to say so, Biggs. Thank you. But if you check out images of Richard Armitage on the web and find the photo I used for reference, you will see that his eyes are looking straight at you in that photo, not sideways as in my drawing. Otherwise, I stayed pretty close to the photo. I wasn't very comfortable with the rough surfaced paper, though. BTW, I am embarrassed. I was informed tonight. by Emano, that she is a girl, not a "he." It is a lesson for me to look more closely at the Zodiac signs in the future, and not assume anyone's sex. Most embarrassing!

Oh Joyce, you are a JOY!!! i am sure, you have crept a couple of inches deeper into Emano's heart!!! i must confess, i read what type of men make you look twice... and i can proudly stand next to you and agree! But i got my man too, dark haired, most beautiful blue eyes i have ever seen, long black eyelashes,he looks alot like Mel Gibson did in his first Mad Max movie  :*D:and we have been married for 14 years... but have a loooong way still to go to catch up to you and Ed? was it? :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Good! I am glad that I am not standing alone!! It sounds as though you hit the Jackpot with your hubby. God willing, together you (pl.) will reach your Golden Wedding Anniversary, and many more! I have never regretted marrying Ed. I love him!! There is more to life than just good looks, too; but Ed wasn't short on them, either. He just wasn't the image I had built into my mind, that I would marry someday. My dad had black hair and dark brown eyes. Mom was blue eyed and blonde.

You warm my heart! The way you talk about Ed after 53 years of marriage! You two deserve a Statue of some sorts! Not many couples these days can proudly say, they have been married for more than 10 years and stayed true to their partner! People just give up so easily. And true, there is defnetly more than just good looks! Wow, my dad had brown eyes...he was blond and my mom had the dark hair and icy blue eyes again... she is grey now, but still has those icy blue eyes... i got dads brown eyes... Mom says i have real Bambi eyes. When my mom was in her early twenties, her photographs reminded me a lot of a young Princess Soraya, same type, same look.

Princess Soraya was a beautiful woman. It is a shame she was infertile, forcing the Shah to divorce her, so he could marry again....in hopes of siring a male heir to the throne. A lot of good it did him....or her. Life is definitely NOT a bed of roses for many, even though some live much higher than others while on this earth. BTW, I went to an interesting website tonight....courtesy of Emano, the young lady I dedicated this portrait to. It is Richard Armitage's website. If you scroll upward to Emano's replies, it is the one that says "This is the link, hope I helped you." If you like Richard Armitage, you will see lots of photos of him, from the various roles he has played. His bio is very interesting, also. Quite an accomplished young man.

True, one of life's very sad love stories, of Soraya and the Shah... if i remember correctly, she is buried in Paris? Her gay brother inherited all the jewlery she got as presents from the Shah?... i must have a look in the internet again... i love history, but know too little... i had a look into Richard Armitage's website... He is a hunkylicious! ihave not heard much about him yet in RSA... i always welcome new talent, with good stories! Thank you!

According to Wikipedia, Soraya died in Paris, France; but she was buried in a cemetary in Munich, Germany, along with her parents and her brother, Bijan. Also, according to Wikipedia, her brother died one week after Soraya, claiming that after she died, he had no one to talk to. Soraya's personal belongings were sold at auction, after her death. I am glad you have discovered RA. I like your word for him, "hunkylicious!" I shall remember that. Thanks.

it just so happened that after our little "talk"about Soraya, i dashed into the internet and read up about her on Wikipedia.... i lived near Munich for nearly 3 years and i could have taken a walk to the cemetry, but i never did! :/ i think it is pretty special, that the family is back "together" again... While reading up on Soraya, my eye caught the "the Stoning of Soraya M"... a movie of the true storie of a woman being stoned! Unreal that such barbaric acts still exist to this day!

Amen, Biggs! Barbaric acts, indeed they are! Such fundamentalist thinking is akin to the stone age and cave men. Honor killings, and female genital mutilation are just as barbaric. Some base things in mankind's psyche never seems to change. :(

Yes, I like to say these acts are "Man's inhumanity towards man." Your life sounds as near to heaven on earth as anyone can hope for. I am also thankful for the gifts the good Lord has given me. A husband I wouldn't trade for any other, five healthy and happy children...now adults; a lovely home; good neighbors, and many friends. No pets at this time, although we have had dogs, cats, gold fish, 2 crows, and a pet skunk over the years. :)

Yes, our middle daughter, Kathryn, wanted one for a pet, so we went to a pet store in San Antonio, TX and bought one. It's scent sac had been removed. Thank goodness!  We named it "Trouble," but "Kim" (called that, because of her three initials) preferred to spell that "Truble!" :blowkiss: :blowkiss:

Ha! Well I didn't tell you how the skunk got its name. On the way home from the pet store, he got loose from my daughter's arms. I was driving so I couldn't look for him. All I know is, he wasn't under my feet...thank goodness. I stopped the car at a gas station. Got out, raised the hood. No skunk! We went on home. Found him hidden in the glove compartment. He might just as well been named, Houdini. :D :D :guffaw: :blowkiss: :cute:

I've been working on a portrait of Carlos Marin to post on the Il Divo website for his birthday, which I believe is the 13th of this month. I have a delicious photo of Richard Armitage waiting in the wings, that I hope to duplicate when this one is finished. Nite-nite. "Joje" :blowkiss: :blowkiss:  :cute: :zz: :zz:

Yes, I checked on it. Carlos' birthday is a week from today, Tuesday, Oct. 13th. He was born in 1968. Both Ed and I are Il Divo fans, but I am even more so. Because of them, I started drawing portraits. I joined their website on Oct. 11, 2008 and I have made friends with a couple of artists there on The Art Thread, which is a sub-forum under Entertainment and Creativity. My Il Divo friends in turn, told me about this website, where they have also posted some of their drawings. WEd and I have five Il Divo's CD's, 2 DVD's, and their book:IL DIVO, OUR MUSIC, OUR JOURNEY, OUR WORDS. Thanks for your e-mail and fine photo. I sent you an e-mail this morning, with 7 photos. YES, you hit the nail right on the head! he is the chameleon!!!! WOW! now i remember, we used to find many chameleons in our garden... but they have all gone... the blacks here kill them, they say, they are from the dark forces... and full of evil! Imagine! so sad! i love chameleons... i must try and find the pix of me and the chameleon and send it to you, ... i'll call it: Urs and Biggs, haahah

Oh yes INDEED, I do like him! That is not the problem. The problem is, I haven't had the opportunity to see him in anything other than two episodes of the Brit comedy, the VICOR OF DIBLEY. :(Apparently there isn't a high demand to see him on this side of the pond, as there is elsewhere. :( I thank you though, for your kind comment! :blowkiss: :blowkiss:  :hi: :cute:

You are right! I MUST get a copy of this movie. I had the 1985 version on tape, with Patrick Swayze, David Carradine, and Kirstie Alley, but I don't remember the love scene (ending) being as "delicious" as this one. I just watched it on the web. I love Richard's sensitivity. He doesn't grab Daniela (Margaret). He moves in gently, but surely. I think his kisses would melt just about any woman, if she's isn't a fool. Thanks a million for the info. Joyce   :blowkiss:  :hi: :cute:

After watching those videos, I realized they are two different stories. The 1985 North and South (with Patrick Swayze) is about the Civil War in the US. The 1991 movie of North and South that you told me about is set in England. No wonder it seemed different . Sorry to have confused you. I still plan to buy the one with Richard Armitage.  :love:Those scenes only whetted my appetite. I already wish the last train scene, weren't the end of the movie. I think it is one of those stories, that you hate to see come to an end. :blowkiss:
