Very good concept. it's very difficult to explain about black lines it's called outlining and sometimes works, your shading on the face is excellent. But stick to one type of drawing tool if painted it would look OK but imagine the look it half done with a pencil and half with a brush the same thing with half pencil and half marker. For a marker the shading should have been with ink. I'm not saying this because I'm a teacher but because I've been down that road and I thought they looked great, I was a great comic book fan and they use makers. Everybody I know would say Brian it looks like them but there something wrong with it 'it looks unfinished' now after 15 years and a lot of drawing and painting I see their point, Ink and marker, pencil and chalk. You have a excellent talent on a road of art, there are many side roads that lead nowhere or nor improve. Brian

Whether your 15 or 50 it is of no mind, I like your work all I say is advise is free and I can give that. I'm not professional or a teacher because painters paint and teacher teach they don't mix I can help by saying what works for me and the mistakes I've made the biggest is on your drawing it could be done by me in the 90's I new best then and even my young son said dad you've spoilt it but I still went on. Then I watched Rolf Harris on TV and he changed me from a outliner to a painter of colour and shade. Practice to get to any standard you have to practice not just draw what you like but everything your asked to. I painted 10 painting a day at the start of 2009 and only slowed up because I could not sleep. I wanted to paint 16 hours a day now I have settled down to 4 hours. You draw well but present poorly so you have the talent but not the skills and techniques I have them and can answer any question. Brian.
