Portrait of artist quoththeraven956(United States) Added on Oct. 15, 2009 03:28 Pencil
This portrait is taken from an autographed photograph shown on the German Christopher Walken Forum website. Mr. Walken plays Johnny Smith in the film: THE DEAD ZONE. His infamous moles are whitewashed from his face following a cold Maine snowstorm.
Ahhh! A Scotsman--you are! Thanks for the KUDOS, "Kenny". Chris Walken, by the way, is half-Scottish/half German. His my favorite subject to draw and admire as an actor. He has a big CLAN of Russells (his mother's family) living in Edinburgh. Your portraits are fabulous!!!
Didn't expect such a response from so many portrait artists. Thanks for the thumbs up!!! It's gratifying to know that artists like you are so supportive of a "newbie". YOUR portraits of women are exceptionally beautiful! Thanks again for the KUDOS!!!
We BOTH have been drawing for a VERY LONG time. In the 60's, I majored in Art in college--but only took one class in portraiture. My preferred medium is pencil and ink. I do watercolor now and then. Your portraits are "superbe" as well. Your women portraits are delightful! Thanks for your KUDOS and "smilies"!!!
FROM RUSSIA "with love"...! WOW!!! Thank you for all of the "smilies"!!! YOUR pencil portraits are marvelous! It's GREAT to get such positive feed-back from other artists. The rest of the world has NO idea what we go through to put beloved images from the "right-side" of our brains down onto paper. Thanks again for the KUDOS!!!
A BIG HAND of applause from an very young ALGERIAN, no less! This website is fantastic--artists from all over the world. And very talented ones like you. I especially like your Nat'l Geographic portraiture of the girl in the shawl. You captured her very well--such intensity in her eyes! Thanks again for your "smilies"!
Lise, you must LOVE Barbara (nee Monique Serf) very much!!! Incroyable! 367 beautiful portraits of the cabaret chanteur!!! You captured her mystic very well! My infatuation with Christopher Walken is similar to yours with Barbara. I've drawn numerous portraits of him. I hope to put only the "best" of his portraits on this website. Thanks for the "smiley" applause and thumbs-up!!!
The portraits of YOUR men are--oolala!!! They are all so deliciously illustrated, I could eat them all up!!! Bon Appetit!!! I'm slowly getting my pencil "technique" back. (I illustrate primarily in ink.) Your pencil drawings are superb! The detail is breath-taking! Thanks for your Kudos!!!
Thanks for the throbbing "heart-eyeballs". That's what Christopher Walken does to me--love the guy!!!--BIG TIME!!! Like you and Kate Winslet, it's a "pencil-on-paper" love affair! Thanks for the applause and thumbs-up.
Thanks for the "standing ovation" of applauding hands. Wow!!! This website is magnanimous with its praise! I loved your super-censored Pamela Anderson illustration. Was that YOUR idea or the "panel of judges"? She's a beautiful woman in more ways than one!!! Thanks again for the KUDOS!!!
Sorry to be so late with my reply. Thanks for all of the KUDOS! I'm not as prolific as you. You portraits of women are SO romantic. Each one could be on a romance novel cover. Not bad for a self-taught artist. People who say, "I not an artist...I can't even draw a straight line." Well, neither can artists. They need a straight edge.
Thanks again for all of the "Applause"! Regarding your portrait communique to me: I'm holding off on that decision for now. Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner. I just saw the Yul Brynner portrait you did in 2008. It's terrific!!! You have quite a few admirers of your work. I'm one--without a doubt!
WOWW!!! What THUNDEROUS applause smileys. Thank-you! Thank-you! Thank-you! Just took a peek at the Yul Brynner site--You captured his likeness very well. Love your child portrait at the bottom on page one. A relative of yours by chance???!!!
No relation but I was appointed artist for both the Connie Marshall web site and Have contributed art work for the O'Rorke memorial site too. Thanks for your comment and visit again soon!!
Hi, Sellia...are you a Walken fan, too? Thanks for all of the smilies! In your gallery, the portrait of James Dean to really COOOOL! Love the colors you used on all of your other portraits, too. Did you know that Natalie Wood was infatuated with Dean. Before she died making the movie BRAINSTORM, some say she had a crush on Walken (her co-star) and that he reminded her of James Dean. So sad how it turned out for her. It's hard to watch the movie, knowing she died before its completion. But she and Walken had great chemistry in the movie.
