This one is for you, Shahin; because you have given all of us so many fine portraits. I hesitated about dedicating this drawing to you, remembering what you told me, about how one could make a tree taller or shorter in a drawing, and it would not matter much. But if you are one centimeter off in a portrait of someone, everyone is going to notice that. Please accept my humble drawing, even though I am several centimeters off in quite a few places.
How wonderful to come onto the site and there's Jojemo's amazing creation of Salma Hayek on the top of the pops ... oh well the recents at least - . Wonderful job Joje-Jojo, how you manage day after day to achieve this is fantastic.
Thank you, Jeanne. I think something is driving me to draw something at least every other day, and sometimes two days in a row. At my age, I will not have many days left in which to draw. Already the glaucoma in my eyes, and arthritis in my hands is starting to take a toll. But, hopefully God will allow me to have fun a little longer. I give Him credit for any talent I may have. I have never taken Art lessons. I have only had art classes in grade school, Junior High, and High School. I went to college one semester (San Antonio Jr. College), but then we moved to OKC. I went to work in a department store (ladies fashion) then in a bank, and I never got back to college.
... Sometimes I look at my pictures and I think "How did I manage to do that???" ... I always give the credit to my guides - the spiritual forces that show us the way. I took art lessons for a while in the evenings when I was at commercial college. Nothing prolific. A lot of people on this site don't have any formal training ... we're all guided here to learn from each other. I love this site so much, it brought new meaning to my life.
A beautiful portrait dedicated to a master! I personally do not have an ruler to measure the work. My eyes and my heart appreciate all the beauty here. Wow! Sublime my dear Joyce!
Hi my lovely friend Joyce, me too, I'm very glad to see you, you missed me a lot to me too, I'm fine, just a little tired, I'm on stars Portraits and Deviantart, but I hope everything goes well for you too, congratulations again for your fantastic close-up, pass a great day, I embrace you very strong

Hi Joyce! excuse me I'm very late! I was very busy... it's a good thing to spend much time on a work then to get a beautiful result such as this one; I like to look to my drawings which I spent more time on
Yes, a little extra time spent upon a drawing usually reaps bigger dividends. I move slower with colored pencils, as I am still not sure what to do with them.
Thank you, Emano. You did not have to go through my whole gallery and comment on so many of my drawings, but it was nice of you to do that. This drawing of Salma is one of my favorites. Thanks again. Joyce
