Excellent, both likeness and technique you have all the skills. and more importantly the orignallity. Colour and paint awaits I was like you I drew over and over but then the paint bug got me and now I draw then paint but it flows like magic I look and think not how but when I have the ability to copy anything but alawys seek new a pose or look that is originally I don't want to be the guy that can draw anybody but the guy that takes your breath away with you the viewer saying how did he do that. Your very talented and should look at art as a hobby or living. Only positive thought suceeds say I can, I will, I want to. brainfree.
thank you so much brian for your advise and help i will take the tips on board. i love people honesty in art and always try to better myself. All my portraits on here have only taken me upto 1 1/2- 2 hours i am trying to stretch that time a little longer so i can focus on the detail more. I enjoy using acrylic but i only paint on a night when my children are in bed so pencil is alot easier to put away. I will eventually do acrylic tho and maybe watercolour although im not confident with watercolours. Again thank you all for the comments
Can I say it's not important how long you draw but what you draw the layout or first draught of a face sets the tone of the work I'm know for my likeness in the way I see people but realy it's more about the balence of perfect construstion and the flare or magic of the work. I spot this in your work so think less about detail and more about what makes people look like themselves, easy with well know ones like anglena J or Marilyn Manson because the likeness can stand out. Time is a great thing I have plenty as I'm retired now but practice makes perfect. I have hours in the day but I still wake at 5am and draw then paint it by 8am because I'm obssesed. Good work keep the thinking going because one day a hobby or the next a living. I will answer any questions on watercolour as I have many skills, techniques and tricks on how?and how to start.
thank you i really apreciate your help and i will take on board your tips. I am ok at landscape drawings in watercolour put not quite as good on portraits of people. which is best watercolour paints or pencils?
