So, she doesn't look much like zhang ziyi, apart from being asian. but it's definitively a step up in my whole "learn how to draw with pastels" thing, I suppose.
Excellent you seem to worry more about the likeness than others. the work is excellent. Beautiful light and wonderful tone with a very light touch. A little secret about me, I would do pastels and fail on the eyes, so I first searched for help! then finding pastel pencils I would use them for the eyes and details. Also I use anything that look right on the eyes. Brian
Well, you see, I think the whole point of drawing portraits is to make the portrait look like the model, no? Thanks for the secrets of trade, though, I'll use them. I'm going to go buy some of these things now I'm always buying new colours
Well, for me it's more about the inside and not the outside. Only when I gave up worring about every painting being a good look a like, that some inner feelings and emotions came out. Yes I do believe they should look like say the model but I can give you ten photo's of her all perfect and all different as they change their look so much. I have look down the page not one person worrys about perfect only the look and what they feel. A great piece of work and that's my opinion. Brian.
Well, ok. But it's kind of discouraging when you spend extra effort so it looks similar, and then it'sjust not the way you saw it. But that might be because I always want it to be better. But, thanks again for your comment and opinion
I don't understand it look like her to me, it's more about your wanting than what it ended up like. Remember we are always to harsh as critics lighten up on your self it's very. very good. I don't bullshit people I have no need to please acept the advise more about looking at your self and being less crtitical. brainfree
