Excellent, skills, techniques and planning all present I can see your a person who likes to improve. I like your drawing not because of the very good likeness but because of the light you have introduce into the work it is always a good sign of practice and patience. You have a great talent and are very good at tone and the study of light. brainfree
Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback, although I would argue that I replicate rather than fully understand light. I've found sometimes that I'll add shading or lack of it to an area, and actually only comprehend it when I revisit the picture hours later. I've said replicate because my drawing is taken from a very well engineered photograph. I guess it could be argued that a proportion of our artistic endeavours owe a lot to the artistic capabilities of the photographer who composed and shot the original photo. It is for this reason that I always feel a little awkward when copyright is mentioned. Saying all this, its great to get feedback like this, and even more so with your constructive feedback on the Eastwood drawing, although it was completed some years ago, and I think my appreciation of composition has increased since then.
