Excellent structure, original and with a lot of feeling. On an art advise level a little more depth would have been good and an easy way of doing this would have been the background. Holy glow or halo came from early painting in the 15 and 16th century i allows a haze or glow to be projected I have tried this technique many times without sucsess. I have done a very large painting of solders leading Jesus to the cross and it was a very interesting subject. Perhaps I will repeat the few portraits I have done again to see if I have improved. Well done.
