I finished this portrait last night while watching "Million dollar baby". I hope you like it! And have a very Happy Christmas!! I am going home (Murcia) this afternoon!!! can´t wait!!
Your dramatic portrait of Kiefer immediately caught my eye when I brought up StarsPortraits today. Congratulations on being presented in "recent portraits" side-bar. Your style is very unique. And your color palette is deliciously intriguing. !!!
Thanks so much, I really appreciate your opinion! My palette is in fact always very limited, as I find it more "playful" and creative have a great Christmas!!
Thanks a lot! I enjoy using the minimum colours I need (in this case one type of red, one type of blue, yellow, and a bit of black). About the likeness, thanks a lot, for some reason I really like to do portraits of Kiefer Sutherland, I find him inspiring! Have a fantastic Christmas and New Year you too! I m bringing my drawing kit back home..I m sure I´ll manage to find time to draw a bit!
Any way, your colours are fantastic and Thank u very very much dear Alicia!!!!Wish u all the luck in your next portraits and wish u to have an amazing christmas and happy new year for you too!!!!
i just realised i didn´t reply to your kind message, please forgive me! it is been a long time, but just wanted to thank you your kind words and support! have a great w-end and may the art be with you!
Wow! Great Keifer/Jack Bauer Alicia! & poor Hillary baby! Even Clint couldn't save her
Have fun & a Merry Christmas in Murcia!! (isn't that where they have the giant Jesus?) oops Nope - Brazil - but yours is huge too!
hehe thanks for your comment! But I did show my pics to my dad and he said I should STOP doing my watercolours because he prefers my drawings just with pencil! anyway, although I might be a good girl and do some more b/w pencil drawings, I don´t want to give up colours!! Yes, poor Hillary baby, what a shame! oh well, even without a huge Jesus here in Murcia we are having a great time I wish you a very Happy Xmas and New Year to you too!
Isn't that so typical! Dear Ol' Dad! ALL the amateur visitors to my house who see this portrait work go ga ga over the laborious pencil studies and totally fail to appreciate the more abstract work that took much longer and truly ranks much higher on the scale of difficulty & on the Ladder of Art! Merry Merry to you too!!
I completely agree with you on that! and anyway, artist are meant to do what they like-love the most, not what they are (or they think they are) expected to do. Picasso knew that very well, he really didn´t give a S** about what he was "suposed" to be doing and created a new language!! happy new year!
Yep. Picasso walks into a bar - end od WW II - falls into a conversation with an American there - I guess the guy spoke Spanish. It is revealed that Picasso is an artist and some of his paintings are displayed in the bar. "I don't like them." opines the soldier or sailor. "Why not?" asks the master. "They're not realistic." says the critic. Pablo accepts his opinion and later, the guy produces from his wallet, a photo of his girlfriend. "I don't like her." says PP. "Why not?!" queries the military man. Indicating a little rectangle 2 inches by 3, Picasso says, "She's too small."
hahahahaha i didn´t know that one. It is as funny as the story about a couple that recognised Picasso at the beach and sent their son for an autograph. Picasso did a quick drawing ON THE KID´S BACK and sent him to his parents, curious to see what they would do to keep the picture. I hope they didn´t take off the skin!!
And, I hadn't heard THAT one! Very good!! Reminded me of another: Cleveland Art Museum - just getting started - curator sends Picasso a letter with a check for $500 - "Please (they ask) just send us some unfinished fragment you don't even like." PP flips the check over, draws a little bullfight scene and mails it back. It DOES hang in Cleveland and probably would sell for a ba-donk-a-donk boatload of cash. Oh, and your Jack/Keifer DOES look a little like some of those Blue Period pieces. Nice to talk to you and keep on - keeping on.
superb! that Picasso had guts and courage, and I think that really helps to break through the soft-minded people that think that everything under the sun has already been discovered! Maybe one day we´ll do a bit like him, and pay restaurant bills drawing a cartoon on the servillet!! nice talkin to you too!
If you're "SOMEBODY" you CAN do that at Sardi's in NY, The Palm in NY, Chicago, & Boston, The Mayfair in London and SOMEWHERE in Spain You're SOMEBODY - and in the UK - so - go to the Mayfair, chow down and try it!
I actually DID IT ONCE in London!! I got a meal for two FREE thanks to my artistic skills That was true. I guess that the fact I was exhibiting at that restaurant (Spanish tapas restaurant with Flamenco show) helped anyway, i´d love to be able to get away with it again!
Yeah, I'll bet the exhibition did help.
If you try it at Sardi's, dash off a caricature of Segovia on the table cloth. If management raises an eyebrow, snatch it off the table and hold it aloft. You will be vindicated by acclamation!!
so happy you like this portrait! it is one of my favourites from my gallery. Do you also do non-celeb themes? I´d love to post my non-celeb themes in another site to be able to share them with you people, it is sooo nice to have feedback from your work! have a great day!
tomorrow is Friday.....and i´ll try to post two of my first ever paintings, which i did as a teenager on a white bed sheet! but i love them! i´ll let u know!
finally i won´t be able to post them today! but they´ll be on by Monday the latest, i promise! i didn´t have the chance to take good photos of them last night. have a very very nice weekend!
Another Monday! and here we are Are you OK overthere in France?? I heard about the terrible weather and people dying in France!!! here in Spain it is been quite bad as well in the South!!! take care, my friend!!
anything exciting for the weekend? we r going to a ski trip with the people that work with my partner...i don´t really know them but i m sure it will be fun! i´ll bring my drawing stuff just in case!
great!!! well done! are you posting it soon here? me i thought i wouldn´t have the change, but at the end at had about an hour after skiing, and people were super tired just laying on the sofa...and i took the opportunity to draw another portrait of Kiefer Sutherland..I´ll post it hopefully this week! looking forward to see more of your work too!
