おかげで、私の友人。私はそれのように嬉しく思います I used Google Translate. I do not speak or write Japanese. For the rest of you, I said, "Thank you, my friend. I am pleased that you like it."
I can not read and write a foreign language. i always use the online translation sites. However, Japanese does not translate very well. Try some sites many times. This is recommended. nicetranslator.com/
It is not likely to be able to understand at all, and it exists at a good translation sometimes.
Please give me your reply in English. It translates for myself.
Thank you. I will do that. I have already explained how I am doing my portraits. If you do not understand, ask, and I will try to explain in a different way.
Thanks for the compliment, Shige. I have been mainly my own teacher, with a little help from friends, books, and PC magazines. We also have a laptop, but my husband seldom uses it. I use it when we travel. I have taught myself how to use a digital camera and an iPod, also.
In defense of my husband and his avoidance of computers, as a Supervisor at a Flight Service Station, Ed was the person who had to fix them when a computer shut down at work. Computers have changed a lot since Ed retired in 1985. When my word processor quit, Ed bought me a computer. This is my second computer, and our laptop is the third.
The day my husband bought me my first computer, he also bought me a $40 book, called, Alan Simpson's XP BIBLE. That helped me get over some rough spots in the beginning. Since then, I have had to learn new things from a PC Magazine I subscribe to, or by trial and error.
I had worked on a computer at a bank, but my first computer was a whole different thing than the bank's computer. Fortunately, that XP BIBLE book is well written, and it was not too hard to understand. It had pictures of computer screens, etc. in it, and explained everything step by step.
Many thanks, Master Shahin. Since we returned home, I've been keeping the pencils warm. Have drawn 8 portraits, but not posted all of them. One will have to wait until after February 8, as it is a surprise birthday gift for one of our daughters.
I have posted 6 other portraits on S-P since I got home, beginning with another Salma Hayek portrait; then a composite sketch of Spencer Tracy/Kathrine Hepburn; Native American, Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe; two portraits of Jimmy Smits, and one of the Croatian, Goran Visnjic, who played a doctor on a popular TV show. I have drawn two portraits of a sports figure for one of our daughters for her birthday, next month. (Not posted, yet, as that might spoil the surprise.) I am presently working on a dual portrait of Van Johnson and Esther Williams. So I have been busy!
No need, Shahin. I just wanted to tell you that I was back and into the swim of things again. You would have to hire a secretary to keep up with all your S-P mail, check out everyone's artwork, and still keep your own affairs in order. It is a wonder you find the time to do all the things that you do, do.
Thank you, dear friend. This was my third attempt to draw this one. I tried to do one with watercolor pencils, but that didn't come out good. Also tried to do one on orange colored paper. Scrapped that one, too. Finally went back to graphite pencils.
I thank you my friend, Umberto. I am starting to get back into the swing of things. Was out of practice a month, while on holiday vacation. Thanks again! Joyce
Thanks Jeanette! If at first you don't succeed, try, try again....and I did. This was my third attempt. I still didn't get Patrick's face quite like I wanted it, but decided to settle for this one, and move on. Thanks again! Joyce
Thanks Joyce for asking my knee is pretty sore yet. I am wearing a brace that I bought at Wal Mart it was only twelve dollars and it does help a lot. I guess the four years will fly by. It seems the older we get the years do go by faster. I hope to enjoy all the leasure time I can get. I do have a great company and five weeks vacation so I am lucky not to mension a wonderful boss and a great union we are in the arospace union. Very fortunate for me and my husband. He is retired and has had many, many illnesses. Open heart surgery, diabeties and bowl obsturction etc. So I am most happy to continue to support us at least for the insurance.
Maybe you would be a candidate for Lyrica. My husband's doctor prescribed it for Ed's back problems. Also, my hairdresser, who has had breast surgery, takes it. Both swear by it. In any case, I am sure the brace will help. It will be nice when you can count down the days and hours.
OH one of my FAV photos of Patrick! His Stallions name is Tammon?.... wow, nice name! my mom send me to an Arabian Riding School, i always got the very hype and lively mares... Shireya and Cavellea were to of them... one mare was white and Cabellea was brown like Tammon here... they are lovely animals! oh and i LOVE your Portrait!!!!
It doesn't quite look like Patrick, but aside from that, it didn't turn out too bad. I got the name of hiis horse off the web. I almost bought an Arabian horse, years ago, when I lived in Michigan. That was before I decided to become an Stewardess, or Flight Attendant, as EAL referred to us.
You know, i tried this exact Portrait too and i also battled to get his face right! But you did a great job!!! WHAT you nearly bought an Arabian horse??? WOW!!!! my ultamite dream was either a pitch black or a snow white arabian stallion... that is when i got my black and white, little joe cartwright pony, Darius, i LOVED him!!!!! He was just perfect!!! i have a Horse encyclopedia and i can look at those horses for HOURS!!!! such beautiful animals!
A High School girlfriend of mine, who also had an Art class with me, drew nothing but horses. Her horses looked real. Audrey is now married and lives in Louisville, Kentucky. She models race horses after real ones, in clay, fires them, then sells them at the racetrack.
Thank you. I did this one in one evening. But this was the third time I had tried to do it. I tried to draw it with watercolor pencils first, but that did not work out like I had hoped it would. Next, I started drawing it on orange colored paper, but I was not happy with how that was going, either, so I scrapped it. Finally, I went back to white paper and graphite pencils....and this is the result.
I've submitted four more portraits tonight (actually, after midnight here) but they haven't been approved yet. A couple of them will not be very popular with some folks.
My 'Karina Bagdasarova' was waiting for approval more than 2 days...until I haven't sent the letter to the administrator... Hope all your portrait will be approved very soon! Have a nice week, dear Joyce!
This portrait is lovely, Lanka. Your Karina is beautiful, the white tiger is magnificent, and the color blue, in the background, and a little touch of pink are just right. Well done, dear friend.
It was several days, maybe as long as a week, before my Dirt Face Native American (Indian) portrait was approved and posted. Two drawings that I'd submitted after Dirt Face, were approved before he was. I guess they thought I'd made up the name, and it took them that long to verify that he was once a real living person.
Obviously you liked Patrick Swayse or horses, or both. This is not one of my better portraits as I drew it in my second year of drawing celebrity portraits, but I am pleased that you like it, Aurore. Hopefully my work has improved since then.

Does "nicetranslator.com" translate English into understandable Japanese, or would you rather I just keep my replies in English?

It is not likely to be able to understand at all, and it exists at a good translation sometimes. Please give me your reply in English. It translates for myself.

Thank you. I will do that. I have already explained how I am doing my portraits. If you do not understand, ask, and I will try to explain in a different way.

It may be rude, but there are not many people using a PC by your generation in Japan. I respect you.

Thanks for the compliment, Shige. I have been mainly my own teacher, with a little help from friends, books, and PC magazines. We also have a laptop, but my husband seldom uses it. I use it when we travel. I have taught myself how to use a digital camera and an iPod, also.

Computers have changed a lot since Ed retired in 1985. When my word processor quit, Ed bought me a computer. This is my second computer, and our laptop is the third.

You learned the PC by oneself. You are full of curiosity, and study is earnest.

The day my husband bought me my first computer, he also bought me a $40 book, called, Alan Simpson's XP BIBLE. That helped me get over some rough spots in the beginning. Since then, I have had to learn new things from a PC Magazine I subscribe to, or by trial and error.

It seems to me that the book difficult for a beginner. Thanks to the book, you came to know more about a PC.

I had worked on a computer at a bank, but my first computer was a whole different thing than the bank's computer. Fortunately, that XP BIBLE book is well written, and it was not too hard to understand. It had pictures of computer screens, etc. in it, and explained everything step by step.

I see you knew a lot about a PC in it indeed.

Yes, I learned a lot from that book. Some of it is a bit out dated now, because technology is advancing at such a fast pace.
Because, as for the PC, progress is early with software and hardware.

beautiful!

Many thanks, Alicia.

so nice!

Thank you, dear friend. This was my third attempt to draw this one. I tried to do one with watercolor pencils, but that didn't come out good. Also tried to do one on orange colored paper. Scrapped that one, too. Finally went back to graphite pencils.

You no doubt know that old proverb, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!" I applied that to this portrait, three times.

Many thanks, Elana.

My thanks, sincerely. Joyce

I thank you my friend, Umberto. I am starting to get back into the swing of things. Was out of practice a month, while on holiday vacation. Thanks again! Joyce

Outstanding and excellent portrait of Patrick Swayze! Bravo my friend Joyce!!

Thanks Jeanette! If at first you don't succeed, try, try again....and I did. This was my third attempt. I still didn't get Patrick's face quite like I wanted it, but decided to settle for this one, and move on. Thanks again! Joyce

I also bought Dirty Dancing recently
