Very good, I tutor art students and I have a few little comments to help you with improving. In the pencils you are using the darkest type or B rating is B6 in many others you can get B9 which looks very dark. Why all this thing about pencils well it's the difference between dark and light that makes work look as though it has depth or the 3D look. To start try to remember that drawing is only a stepping stone important but a step towards painting. The stepping stones look like this drawing and shading to teach construction then pastels and watercolour crayons to teach colour and tone then finally painting. OK if yo wish I can help I only offer help where it's wanted repy and I will make some comments. Brainfree

First lets think about presentation how to make your work stand out. Mostly done using the shaded or painted background. Why well in means you don't have to over shade faces or with paint darken the faces. For example the faces above of Leo and Kate a wavy line pencil shading would make the mind think of the sea behind them pushing their faces forward. The shading should be different to the face or hair shading say cross-hatching or directional. This style will allow the viewer to see more in the drawing this is an important point don't draw for your self draw for the viewer they see things in work that you don't the mind of the viewer wants to see more always. Next think light and dark they improve drama in your work ask questions of other artists how do you do that? or is that ? Be bold, be brave and practice. I practice for two hours a day even now always drawing or painting mastering the pencil or the brush. Have fun I will watch out for your next work think background and depth. Brian or brainfree
