Very nice. How do you apply the shading. With finger, q-tip or what?

Hi and thanks....I work only with pencil..... I work form light to dark.....the first is the 7H, then h3,H,F,B, B2and may be 6B. but not finger or other q-tips.

so then... if I understand you correctly, since you don't blend, you are drawing small lines maybe in 2 opposite directions and using the different h or b's to achieve tones. How about for the very black?

i thing the 6b is verry dark. try it...
