Thank you very much, Framy! Unlike most people, I first heard of Hedy Lamarr, because I used her invention (actually co-invention with composer George Antheil) for my work. Only later on, I discovered she was also a famous actress and saw her in films. I am an electrical engineer and have used and dealt with her invention of frequency hopping spread spectrum, or FHSS, many times. I can tell you, it is no cheesy, lightweight invention. It is very sophisticated and very clever. And also very important to the world. They conceived of it for communications, but it is exceptionally useful for many other applications as well. So there is my connection but of course I've enjoyed some of her movies now, too, and her interesting life story.
