A problem sometimes is over working the painting so this time I took the hair so far but decided not to over work.

Do you make a sketch with a pencil before painting?

Firstly, I decided whether I am going to do a water colour in grey, black, blue or rarely a pencil sketch or full colour painting. This time I went with a blue wash after a 4b pencil sketch to get the proportions right, then I added small amount of colour very quickly. I have a problem like everyone knowing when to stop.
