Thank you, I'm happy you went through my gallery. I'm sorry it took so long, it's a problem if you paint quickly, in that I post many each day. Speed has come with many years of practice. Watercolour has always carried a bit on a reputation of being difficult. I can give away many techniques about eyes, lips skin tones and hair, but I can’t teach likeness, this is a slow talent that only comes with time. It is good to do other things such as drawing, colour pencil drawing this teaches about tone. Watercolour is probably the first sight of painting we see when small children slapping it on at school and coming home to happy parents. At secondary school because it’s not taught, It becomes wrapped in the difficult blanket? If tomorrow I was to pick up a violin and rub up and down the strings at the end of 1 hour, I would not expect to be able to produce music.

Using the analogy of music start with the scales or w/c washes, blending colours together, down a page. Practice drawing circles with a brush, I draw now always draw with a brush, like the japanese. It’s originality, technique and likeness that get you noticed not the medium you paint in! Practice, perseverance and patience is the Great secret and Hard work. Sorry this is so long I thought after the time you spent I should give you a long answer. :) :8)
