I meant to say, this one is great too...I don't know much about Guiness beyond his roles...another Welshman with a beard? Anyway, I like it - great work. Freehand John :D :D

Thank you he was a great actor by even though Wales has produce many great actors unfortunaty this one was born in Paddington, London, England. I have had beard for 50 years. Is your name freehand John or is it so kind of joke. :)

Thank you, the painting is better than the scan, the white seems not to scan very well, I try now to either mask or leave out to get white. On this I tried to add a little blue for half shadow, the edge of left side is all wrong. :)

It is due to deficiencies of some scanners. Some scanners have sophisticated soft wares. You can define black point (the darkest point of the work) and white point (the lightest point of the work) in these soft wares before you begin to scan. Otherwise you can do it in Photoshop. :hi:

ever thought about making a pencil work?

 brainfree - 07/10/08, 09:42 reply
OK, I have about 1000 pencil drawings that I have done over the years, also I have 100 pastel works, 200 felt pen drawings, all a bit big for the site many were done 30 years ago and have faded some have age marks and fly spots so I've never been interested in putting them on, many are of animals and body parts ( skulls, hands, heads etc) Also I paint about 20 film posters I have four main works I've done that are on my living room wall. OK drawing is great but compared to painting great does not even get close. Anyway like with this piece I draw with a brush now! if I had to just draw for the site I could do it! but they would take to long, as when I draw with a pencil I can take weeks. Perhaps I'll draw a pencil drawing for you. :) :8)

 oppek - 09/10/08, 18:36 reply
it would be an honour :whip:... I didn't draw for weeks now, I might draw my departed mother and my oh so lovely classmates :8)

That's a very good idea, I'm sure she would like that, but don't beat your self up! if you find it to difficult. I'm sure she will be watching over you and only want you to be happy. I have lost my mother but not at your age, all I can say is as time has gone by I remember the good memories more and more and I feel her presences every day. Also, it is good to have friends, any time you want a ear to talk to, just let me know! I'm here ever day perhaps we can take your mind off things with art. God Bless. Brian

You speak very good English. Is that from school :) :8)

 oppek - 11/10/08, 19:37 reply
well, I've got friends who speak English, and they learned me the fundamentals, got better and better through the years, then we've got english as a school subject and now I can easily speak and write it ^^ and I'm proud of it :p

 brainfree - 12/10/08, 10:52 reply
You write English and it's Grammar very Well, I'm Welsh by birth and Wales has it's own language although in South Wales we don’t speak it very much. In Welsh my country Wales is called Cymru. If I was to say to you in welsh ‘I get up early every day’ this would be ‘Dwi'n codi'n gynnar bob dydd’. Learning whether art or language is fun. Both my sons went to University and have really good jobs now it makes a big difference to your life What are your other hobbies or interests. :) :8)

 oppek - 13/10/08, 07:16 reply
welsh is a bit weird to be honest... and you're right about the influence of your hobbies^^

 brainfree - 13/10/08, 07:27 reply
I only speak a little of it it is very Celtic. OK, back to drawing I think you should suprise me with a new drawing, practice is always there.

 oppek - 15/10/08, 10:54 reply
kk ^^ but i'm out of inspiration... maybe you could recommend me anything...

 brainfree - 15/10/08, 14:38 reply
Ok how about a fantasy painting or drawing of say a Warlock in a computor game. Warcraft or Final Fanasy a drawing, but it could be colourful. Have a go what can we lose. I'm doing a Harry Potter series and I hate Harry P but I like the art work and stars.

 oppek - 15/10/08, 18:52 reply
I can try... but does it need to be an existing or self-invented? still prefer something to publish on this site ;)

 brainfree - 15/10/08, 20:58 reply
