Thank you, one week, longer than some relationships I've had. I've tried to top the shower painting of her for sometime. All skills and techniques. I list them below. On to the next. :)

Thank you, I had to make it perfect for some reason, I work on it for about a week. It's all skills that I've picked up. Starting with the glasses, shinny skin, cracked Lips, spot green in the eye, blue shadow tone in the top left coner of the glasses and finally the crinkly hair. Of course to do all of them without a lose of likeness. :)

 Chl0e - 18/06/08, 10:18 reply

Thank you, I have a bit of a technique with glasses. Watercolour is all techniques and small skills, I did this painting to see how far I could push the shine on the face and glasses. I had to take the skin tone down and down, but lighten the background and hair. I hope it works. :)

 Timon - 20/06/08, 15:51 reply
I see it's done very rigorously. Definitely one of the best watercolor paintings here!

Thank you, originality, technique and likeness all my aims. Honesty as well, because although some of my painting come start from my head, this was a photograph to start, I just looked at the image and made it into art. It's up to others to decide on good and bad! I'm just glad you like it. :)

Thank you, I like your Rosario Dawson drawing. A tip the paper must be very thick for ink 200grams or is doesn't settle (flatten black). I would use black water colour very dry with a chinese brush.

 thomas - 18/06/08, 13:32 reply
thanks i will try that ;xD

FANTASTIC!! YOU ARE VERY TALENTED!!

 brainfree - 18/06/08, 09:53 reply
Thank you, Although I use mainly watercolour, I used a little Acrylic on this painting, it was on the eyes at the beginning, then after it dried, I over washed the sunglasses colour yellow ochre with watercolour. I found acrylics to be for me to quick drying and permanent. As far as being talented I‘ve enjoyed art all my life 61 years and have learnt many skills and techniques. My passion is to encourage people to enjoy art and be original, like all ability in improves with time and practice. If I can help, just ask. :)

i can see that all your work is done with a lot of pleasure and patience

 brainfree - 25/06/08, 08:03 reply
Thank you, Yes there is a lot of work involved but anyone can with patience learn how to do it. All the rubbish about being born with talent is rubish my father and more could't draw anything I could hold a pencil and scribbled for 10 years befor they started to look like people. Keep Trying it's worth all the hard work in the end. FUN, FUN, :)

Eyes, lips, glasses, everything, it's so perfect! I love it!

 brainfree - 01/07/08, 12:31 reply
Thank you, all skills brought to gether. Different every time. Glasses. First I painted the eye behind the glasses was with Acrylic black then after drying the shine perhaps on the pupil again with acrylic then waited for it to dry. Next, I did watercolour colour tint on the lens leaving out any shine, all done as a wet lazy wash. I check to see what shine is showing on the glasses themselves. The reflection or shadow is always slightly darker behind the glasses. Lastly I blended in on all the joining areas. Skin I'll leave for another day. :)

i love your work it inspires me i soon wish i could as great as you

 brainfree - 13/07/08, 08:50 reply
Thank you, first you have to dip your feet in the water. Have a go once youve started you will get a lot of help from others. First pick a subject you know and like then get a good photo of then, not perhaps the open faced one but one that has light and shade. Then will it be drawing or paint I would avise drawing. Equipment a good sketch pad but any scrap paper will do. Pencils again any will do but the higher the B rating the softer they are so buy a B2 and a B6, A putty rubber these don't mark the paper a sharpener. First practice drawing oval large faces , place eyes, nose, ears and mouth on it. A start it takes courage to put your first work on no matter how good or bad you are. Please by leaving acomment on any drawing tell me when you've put on a drawing. Good Luck. :) :hi:   ;)
