First real colour pencil free hand drawing, to test my brand new colour pencil box (Faber & Castell)! How didn't know how to get a good skin colour with it and didn't know how to do to mix colours. the likeness is not really there but I'm posting it anyway...
Good job with free hand! I saw on Your site the real photo and I must say the eyes and lips are similar Sometimes I also draw colored pencils and I have the same problem - what color use to draw face? I choose oragne. Generally my colored pencil sux with drawing a persons, the are only good for cartoons. I must but some watercolor colored pencils
Thanks Anette!!! Actually, the eyes are too small. I tried to enlarge them with adding make-up but I still see the default
I don't like the diagonals we can see but I think that I only need advice from someone accostumed to colour pencils drawings. just have to find her/him!^^
Watercolour pencils are great too.
I started the skin there with a light yellow, to have the shape without marking a lot the drawing (just like when we use H or 2H graphite pencil for the shape and 2B for the rest)
not bad at all the attraction is her eyes..very lovely
did u sketch using yellow pencil? cause i see the yellow lines around her nose and chin..btw, i applause u for the good free hand drawing...its hard to capture likeness if we're doing freehand...but yours are quite good here are the colors i usually use for skin...for girl/woman; brown, peach and pink...usually, the pink is applied around the cheeks but it can be use around the eyes too...for boy/man; brown, peach and orange...another tips, leave a little white space for the lighting...especially at cheeks, chin, forehead and tip of the nose to make the 3-D effect...hope i'll be able to help u...u can ask me if u need advice regarding the color tones...i'll try to answer whenever im online
Thanks for compliments. Yes, used yellow to avoid too dark initial marks but that's what I don't like : yellow is too perceptible. i would have loved to know how to mix yellow and pink better
Great work with free hand and coloured pencils. I use for skin colour usually light brown, orange and a bit of pink. You could also try to draw lightly little round circles when shading the skin. That way the different colours can be blended more smoothly.
Many thanks and thanks for the advice too. really much appreciated. and I think you're right. It would have been better that way! I made another one today but I did not see your comment before so I did not apply this
