Thank you, who would think it would take so long. Why is it that the simple ones are the most difficult. I have three others like this one all started but hit the buffers, my wife pick this one out of two. I fact she asked her Vicar (Pastor) to come and see my paintings because he had scene them on the web. I'm very embarrassed. Mind although they may look OK on the website in real life they are much better.

Which format do your paintings have?

 brainfree - 06/09/08, 13:35 reply
Format I think you mean medium. Watercolour sometimes I mix a little with underpainting of Acrylic and also Gouache paint. Each has it qualities and uses. Water colour is easyly re-wetted and can be moved or removed Acrylic once dray can be painted over. Gouache paint has translucently and can be seen through. On one painting small parts are done with acrylic or gouache but 99% will be watercolur paint. I hope this answers your question. If not Make your question in German and I will answer in German. If its size A4 for the website but I paint also in A3 say 300mm X 450mm. I use many thicknesses of paper 300 g/m2 to 70g/m2. :) :8)

Thank you for all the information! :) I was only wondering if you use the A4 size or A3, A2... :D I think your paintings would look fantastic as posters. :ok:

 brainfree - 07/09/08, 14:24 reply
Well, I started drawing by copying film poster many years ago (when I was 11) that use to be placed outside two local cinemas. I would wait until the film was over and pester the manager for the posters, after a while I had a little collection, so when then I was 30 I start copying Lutrec and degas.

That is so true, what seems simple often turns difficult but they are always the best! And your wife has good taste!!! Maybe your vicar will want one!!! :cute: :hi:

 brainfree - 08/09/08, 09:44 reply
I'll probably paint a large A4 one for him. I also am contemplating a series of John the Baptist actors.
