i like it's (so looking-like) simplicity (knowing the simplest looking things are one of most difficult to do!) - what a coincidence i read momentairly book Hannibal nice work
that's right, watercolor is very very difficult, i found me i cannot handle it at all and errr. to be honest, i saw film Hannibal rising and Silence of Lambs, but didn't read any book of these 2, neither saw or read The Red Dragon and didn't see Hannibal - I just read it now, so it's kinda.. yuk mixture but according to story outlines i can see within, the book and film must be very similar, but i think books are better, you can sense all the details better and also train your imagination
Very good pastiche of an Iconic film poster. My favourite subject. It's wonderful to see water colour paintings of such a high standard. To attain black areas put a 2 coats of watery acrylic black on first then two watercolour ones it will flatten the black look.
When washing out brushes it sometimes when using black or dark colours leaves a dirty water this I keep and allow to become a thick water. Also you can mix with fresh colours to get them a little darker say on an edge. Then when doing shadow or skin marks such as eye sockets, nose shadows or lips I have a translucent mark that is see through admitted it takes practice to use but it makes such a difference.
