Thank you, it's all about mood and contrast. I like your Emma W. it's very good i've left a comment. If you look at mine it's not about being perfect but colour and how it makes things come to lift I paint with Watercolour because it allows me to paint quickly and I feel it keeps me fresh I don't plan the drawing stage I just put on a light colour wash then build up to the face and likeness. Expeirence means I am getting better at it so practice make things move. Each painting is a lesson here I over whited the face and opps it worked whether it was what my mind wanted I don't care I just let it happen. Try every thing have fun and most of all don't listen to boring old windbags like me. :8)

Sorry but I don't like this at all. Why the drastic change?? This is not like you, Brian :( :/

 brainfree - 18/09/08, 06:55 reply
If I always did nice crisp paintings, no watery or blurry work then I would not be able to grow. Sometimes when doing the more strange ones, I learn a new technique of how to do something new, then I can use it on for the more day to day ones. I’m sorry if you don’t like this one but a saying in my country is ‘ If you miss this one there’s another coming along in a little while’ I know that’s about buses, but I hope you get the point. It is like me! to get bored. :8)

Brian, I was surprised by this after your masterpiece with Sandra Bullock that's all. It just looks like there's blood on his lips and face. No offense.

 brainfree - 18/09/08, 16:33 reply
That's OK I understand it's not your cup of tea. But it's just art and imagination not real life. Im doing a few more then I'll move on like I always do!

 MetalHead - 19/09/08, 14:32 reply
Thats the main thing, to enjoy what it is your doing. I never did any portraits until a couple of years ago, and now I love doing them. :)

 brainfree - 19/09/08, 17:43 reply
I completly agree I also learn't to draw everybody no matter whether I liked them or not because first it'ds fun but second it's good practice because after the first hundred portrait I ran out of looks for my Favourites and unless I continued wirh non favs I would not learn and I'm a big fan of improving my skills and techniques for example I just did a portrait of Sandra Bullock and although I like her a bit it was the underwater skills and techniques that I wanted. :8)

 MetalHead - 20/09/08, 23:58 reply
Thats the best way to learn.Ive not done many portraits yet so theres still some of my favourites I want to do. I like learning new skills too, thats one good thing about this site. :)

 brainfree - 21/09/08, 09:51 reply
Well, if you start painting then just ask and I will give you any skills you need. :8)

Thank you, the base under layer here gave a great light across the work so I used that look to give an eerie or strange look to the light. :8)

 brainfree - 22/09/09, 00:00 reply

 Orionica - 19/10/09, 14:15 reply
not bad :) but in such colors he looks like corpse :oO:

 brainfree - 21/10/09, 08:14 reply
Thank you, Good I think you answered my aim was to show him after this Halloween concert the way I saw him. The thing about the band was their sense of humour they have always dressed up or made the faces up. So I think He would like the corpse description. I like not bad it is a good reward for 4 hours work. As they say you the viewer look and see I pick colours and what you see if it is not him well, I'm Sorry. Move on to the next their not photo's or copies but ART from my head. brainfree.
