Thank you, First I'm a bit mad too! I've had a look at your work and because you have work that makes you an ARTIST and I've drawn for 5o years and at 15 we are about the same standard. Drawing is not about perfect drawings or paintings it's about making others see something you see and to that end I can see you like rock music that gives us a shared interest. Your drawing style is at it's beginning where you what to draw everthing perfect. This perfection only comes from drawing and practicing but so long as you convey your passion and madness to others don't panic. I am as mad over artists and there work as you are over Rock Bands your drawings of Jonathan Davies, Joel Jordson and Reginald Arvizu. are good. Draw more widen the base of your work draw say a girl or a woman an old rock star like say Alice C or Mick J they are old and have like me plenty of time on their faces. Just to finish you have a realy good and advanced part of your art already that's originallity. Brainfree :8)

 mini_tom - 13/10/08, 20:17 reply
thanks for advices, i feel better now :) i don't have a lot of time to practice...But i'm trying to draw so much as i can... (my english is perfect as my drawings, so don't pay attention to it ^^) :cute:

 brainfree - 14/10/08, 08:29 reply
Thank you, your English is better than my French. One day you will draw well and look back and think why was I so negative, I try to help all who want to draw or paint better. I've helped many before you let me say your quite high up on the scale of beginner, your drawings and ideas are good, because your drawing ablitity woun't match your idea's and insperation you get down on your self. I know because I've been there. One day something will click and the two will match up, but then we all find other things to have a little moan about. The key is to practice, first on technique, then on improving skills and asking questions? on this site there are wonderful artists and if you ask they will explain how and what to do. :8)

 mini_tom - 14/10/08, 16:39 reply

Thank you, that's a wonderful pre Christmas present to me as I'm trying to change the View of watercolour or aquarelle from it's messy or landscape image to a portrait image. As you can guess I after 50 years have painted with every medium. The problems stems I think from those school days, when you were asked to paint a picture to take home, so before anyone wanted it, before you could draw, before you had even learnt about tone or shading, a picture of say a school or your friends. Because the teacher and assistant had perhaps 25 to 30 children and had not painted or drawn anything in their life, they let you get On with it and out popped a masterpiece, but then because no one said stop! it became a mess. contined

 brainfree - 11/12/08, 11:06 reply
So what a terrible start, the most difficult thing to do! ‘is paint’ was then set up to fail. I teach it from the start by drawing with a brush, the Japanese have done this for thousands of years. Then to use shade starting from the middle and working out. Then looking for what you want out of the painting. Everyone can paint straight away without any drawing with a pencil. The pencil drawing should teach likeness or tone, not be a piece of work in it’s self, mind some drawings are works of art. OK that’s the boring bit over, I’m a man with a mission. I hope you do give watercolour a go it’s has great qualities that acrylic and Oil do not have. Brian ( brainfree) :8)
