Excellent work, I have visited your website and I'm a bit confused. Why are you still drawing and not painting, with respect your drawing talent will not get better. I was 30 when I gave up drawing portraits and I was very good! it took 15 more years of wasting my time when I came to watercolour, Now! I wish I'd done them earlier, time goes by, tick, tick, tick! Paint for fun but start painting, your very talented don't waste time. Ok not 'waste' but I've drawn over a thousand drawings and now 1000 water colour paintings and I'm still learning.
thank you, but I really want to get better at drawing with pencils and charcoal...I paint as well, but I don't like it as much. I think I can improve on my skills because Im definetly not as good as I want to be, and I dont want to give up. I will get to painting more, after I have mastered this though
OK, I understand, Perhaps I can tell you a little about myself, I have drawn for 50 years I started painting the first time 40 years ago and because it was difficult I gave up! Then again 20 years ago I was determined this time I struggled on for 2 years then you guess it! I gave up! So three years ago I gave up drawing and everything, then I watched a TV program about Japanese writing or painting and I thought hang on I bet I could draw as good as them and like them with a brush, so I did and now I never draw with a pencil. Colour is wonderful and the tones of colour are incredible, with one dip of paint I can show shadow, wriggles or dirt! all draw but with the greatest number of pencils the world can provide it’s COLOUR PAINT pencils.
Please as a wonderful drawer, listen to me you won't get any better with a pencils, just use a brush and learn how to use it the same as a pencil, You've learnt all the necessary requirements of a painter tone, light and likeness. I will help.
