Thank you, I hope she looks like Diana K. but yes there is a similarity. I wanted to paint this since seeng the eyes on the reference photo I used they looked Great. Like always because it looked impossible I enjoyed it more, if you read below you will see how to do it.
Thank you, a lot of work mainly with a scraper on the eyes and lips to get the light shining effect. Also I put a little light oil on the shoulder to get the paint to seperate into a pattern, then I cut it off with the scanner, about 30 minutes work gone.
Thank you, She's sings Jazz! I learn things everyday, I knew she was a singer, but didn't know she sung jazz. I know shes very pretty and difficult to paint.
beautiful work !! I have a question to you... I try to paint acrylics and I've got some problems with achieving the colour of human skin.. could you tell me what colours do you mix to make it ??
Thank you, OK to make flesh tone I use Cad light hue red very small amount, white large amount, small amount of yellow. it's mainly trial and error. I use a made flesh tone for watercolour but I kown you can get a acrylic flesh tone.
Thank you, I put a layer very thickly on the eyelid then I scraped it back to the pink under colour. It is always quite effective. I did a simular thing with the lips and the teeth, secrets all my secrets gone OK I have a another bag full
Thank you, when planning the eyes I thought first of using a shinny paint to bring that look, but then I thought I wish I could use a palette knife like in oils, so I did! I used very thick paint and scraped away at the eyelids, lips and hair. Also I have a very light oil that evaporates quickly, so I used it to try and get an effect of embroidery on the shoulder of the silk dress. Then when scanning I cropped it off, I took about 30 minutes to do it, so I was a bit gutted. I'll have to find a portrait to use it on.
