Thank you, I prepare before painting but once going I have only a passion to try and show I shut my thinking brain off and let my inner self paint, it does not always happen? but because I train myself to try to get the feeling it's nearly always there now.   :8)

 My-Pencil - 27/11/08, 21:08 reply
Great painting of Axl.  :whip: Seeing your paintings makes me want to paint - there never seems to be enough time though. I can put a pencil drawing to one side at any time, but it's not that easy with a painting! 8-)

 brainfree - 01/12/08, 22:25 reply
Thank you, If I've made you want to paint I'm happy as I wish to encourage more watercolour painters. In terms of time, I find the hard bit the time deciding what to do? not the painting The blocks of colour in painting are easy, but the planning and likeness is the more difficult part. Good luck have a go with watercolour pencils it's a great starter. :8)

Thank you, I hope you have a go I like your Alice Cooper it's very good. The main difference between Acrylic and Watercolour is I can put a watercolour painting down for a week and start again when the feeeling grabs me. Hmmmmm  :8)

Hi this is just perfect  :clap:Love his mouth. I always find the mouth very difficult to paint. Use a lot of time to try and get it right. Love painting Axl my self :) :) :) :hi:

 brainfree - 10/01/09, 10:18 reply
Thank you, I like your Axel, I am more of a just do it kind of guy. I'm lucky that mostly they work? but the more thinking I do the worst thinks seem to go. I was a good dart player, I gave up because I developed a thing called the Yipps! it's were you think to much about letting the dart go, when throwing it. I think the mouth on your painting is fine, try not to get a Yipp over it. I alway do things in layers and build the face up, it's about what works for you. Less thought alow your inner self to paint or draw the mouth. One way to over come it is to paint mouth after mouth. Practice, Paitence and Fun, :8)

 annetthoch - 10/01/09, 22:03 reply
Thank you for your advice. I most definetly got the yipps!! :) :) :D :D :D I am the kind of person who can`t stop thinking. But when I paint I loose track of time and only think about the painting. This is how I relax. My brain just won`t shut off. At least I let go of everything else when I paint. I can start painting at 10 in the evening. Go to the kitchen to get a cup of tea, and it`s suddenly 3 in the morning   :)

You must learn to meditate, breath deeply and slowly concentrate on a single spot on a wall, first draw a circle around it in yellow, then look at it for 2 minutes on day one then 4 minutes on day two, Day dreaming, use your imagination to go on a well know long walk, on the next day, do the same walk but take a imaginary dog with you. Build it up this will relax you. Another thing to do is tap the back of your left hand 100 times with your forefinger of the right hand, then do the other hand, these are all ways to leave the day behind, you should set a time with an alarm, as when you get good at it, time flies. I paint under trace state it's relaxing. :8) :oO: :/

 annetthoch - 11/01/09, 23:12 reply
thank you for all your advice. I shall try, you are not the first one to tell me I need to learn how to meditate :roll:Maybe it is finally time to take the advice and put it into action :) One thing I do that helps is karate. You get one on the nose if your not focused :D But still it is not the same as meditation. Thank you :blowkiss: :blowkiss: :ok: :ok:

 brainfree - 11/01/09, 23:59 reply
Karate is great but you need to train your mind not just your body, Repation excerises like the tapping hand technique works tap just on the area above the artery it will calm you and will once done give you a mind disapline It works. :8)

Absolutely BRILLIANT! :O

 brainfree - 29/09/09, 21:43 reply
Thank you, it's the thought before I did it that was the difficult part the painting once learnt is easy. The drawing and what where and how was the difficult bit. Many things have to be learnt like tone one to another the shadow that show depth and how I would show movement. The technical parts were to show enough likeness to make it look like him. :8)
