Thank you I have a few on my wall but not this one as yet they tend to grow on me because I paint at a quick rate this on took about 3 hours I tend not to dwell on them. Like my children I don't have Favourites. Does that sound naff Yes, OK I am Nuts.
i think it is one of your best...so dark but so much light..i dont think anybody other thab u can make somthing like this......awesome...you yourself would be feeling that it is very good....is'nt it....
Thank you it's not for me to say yes I like it but I like all my work. I try to look at each piece as a portrait and nothing more when I'm looking in a week or two I will probably like it more then. Anyway hows your Singrid portrait going I'm finished and it's going on with a John McCann I've just finished I have about ten other started and not yet finished.

What with the dissapointed in you I could never be that you are great. Here we go agian with the negative, possitive always say I'm great! belive it, because you are If I'm so good as you say why don't you belive me.
Thank you, under coat of purple, then red with a hint of blue, all started off with a good drawing. But it's the white or non painted bits that make it. LIGHT Light light
Thank you if you lay down a undercolour and place another over or near it it will contrast and some of the strangest colour work. For example when I paint most portraits I used a blue or light purple under wash as a base or to fill in shadow on a face. now you will say light blue there's now in a face but have a look at some of my portraits and sometimes you will see it and I hope then you'll think blue shadow Hmm. I have no technical answer other than it works. Contrast all portraits are about light and the way we make the viewers eye use it, I have painted people perfectly from a photo and I do mean perfectly and they don't look right something is always missing so the 25% of impressionism and the lossing of details like eye lashes works.
Be not afraid of a passion, what I would be afraid of is once started the insanity it instils in oneself it is now 7-0am on a Sunday morning and I have been painting for 1 hour, Nuts. You can do it! you have the talent! I will advise or help you,
Thank you, I'm always honest I use a photo to get the look Ok to paint it takes skill but the expression I have to give credit to the photograher. I try in my small way to make it a little better than a photo to that end I was happy with the light and expression. The puff of the check and the closong of the eye is where I based my work on the light if I screwed it up I would have lost it. If I look at it it was a semi circle of red on the shine of the cheek. I did somthing simular with a Mohammid Ali B/W painting.
