Excellent, what a departure for you, the wizard of OZ. They make great invidual portraits and youv'e pulled off a great group portrait. You should try colouring pencils to give it depth. I like the fact that youve had a go at what is a difficuly drawing, a big well done.
thanks ive took all your advice on board, for some reason i darent try colour in my work because i think colours sometimes ruins portraits and can make them look a little cartoonish . i normally leave it to the pros but i think u have convinced me to try something a little new i plan on doing my next portrait soon and ill do it in colour and u can let me know if i can pull colour off thanks for the comment u rock!
OK, the view that colour ruins portraits is a bit over the top I feel you are searching for something. I can see an improvement in your work but perhaps drawing things you like or love it is training you into being critical it should be fun all mediums all people. Cartoons are a great way to paint character it trains the eye for likeness, stop being so hard on yourself get back to the Fun. The so call Pro's had to learn like us all I'm self taught the most difficult way to learn I had very little help over 50 years so I vowed to help others. Three steps pick easy subject old wriggled people or Iconic poses, think of this why do I always paint iconic pictures from say Sin city or the Joker or Leon as well as stars. I don't like them all it's because I still like to learn but I pick my classroom and subject matter. I make a bargain with you, I'll paint someone for you and you paint someone for me? I won't look at the quality of drawing but the ideas. So first pose and originality.
lol well actually speaking of paint , i was on youtube last night and saw this girl do an amazing painting of bill. and then it hit me ive never painted him i have only ever drawn him! and i havent drawn bill since i last improved i dont remember the last time i drew him but that was the place we first met XD so i have decided to start a project that involves me using colour, paint and a little bit of bill kaulitz there fore i am doing what u tell me with the colour so wish me luck xx
If your using paint just make a line drawing with no shading or buy a watercolur dark wash pencil they blend into the paint or you will have to rub out the heavy pencil marks, keep it simple. Good luck but I don't think you'll need it.
