Thank you a great moment just before she walks back down the corridor. It's an iconic photo (Out take) I wnated to painting so much but I also wnted not to over paint it so I kept it dark and black. Again working the light to it's max. :8)

Man, this is so wonderful!!! What amazes me most is how similar portrait you are able to make outta few spots, without any edges... !!! :whip:

 brainfree - 03/12/08, 10:51 reply
Thank you, the use of tone and blobs of paint, when starting to paint we paint to a sketch or by numbers this is the way were taught, but what we see is blotches of colour defined into shapes study of the defining edges is what makes impressionism. We teaching I try to teach that you don’t need a drawing to start and the first sketch should be done either with a watercolour pencil or a brush using a light colour say blue or light purple they if seen at the finish will look like shadow. If you look at some of my step by step painting you will see the influence of the brush and the undercoat of blue or purple. Can I say the watercolour medium is always said to be difficult but this is because it’s not taught correctly. It's easy once some basic rules are followed. :8)
