I find the strange feeling as I get towards the end of a realy good portrait to be incredible. I'm working on the Rolling stones four portraits it's going well and I will save the last touches and paint them all at the same time going from board to board. What a buzz better than all the drugs and I know that, mind only the lower ones. When was a young man in the 60's I was a bit of a rebel and in later life it has cost me dear with health problems. But it gave me great expierence of life and love. :8)

Now, I've done the four stages for you, try coping them they follow a pattern don't worry if it does not work straight away I hope you can see the way it's done. very light and darkening as you go. Tell me if your going to have a go and I will be waiting to see your interpretation. Good Luck. :8)

 laladrawyoursong - 17/12/08, 11:47 reply
great work such transion fomr the other ones. Why do you make four copies. To show the progress or something els?>3

 brainfree - 17/12/08, 12:37 reply
Thank you, It started with someone wanting to know how I made a portrait, so I do them to help other newer artists, see a portrait in say four steps. Each showing a stage of the process. Of course I scan the portrait four times, their not individual portraits  :8)

 laladrawyoursong - 03/01/09, 02:34 reply
True, that is a great way to show progress during the process!!!

Love seeing how you developed this piece it was very educational thanks a million Brian you are really a great teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 brainfree - 21/12/08, 12:56 reply
If I had to relive my life I would have gone to art school as a boy and then later have gone on to teaching college. I have been teaching scouts and on this website. I love the view of someone taking on board what your saying and then learn from them when they put their own twist on it. Both Sigrid and Rupin are now both very good watercolourists, after such a short time. Mind I don't think I would have made an English Teacher (Grammer or spelling) I try and thats the main thing. :8)
