I could see you approaching this expertly as not only a Sci-Fi fan but with the Zach Quinto Spock and the great way it turned out.I was raised on this,a child of the 80s watching reruns along with Buck Rogers in the 21st Century, pretty dear to me.
I hoped you would remember our discussion two weeks ago, it was before Christmas so these been waiting from then, as I rough drew them then and finished them this week.
I would do the whole cast only I'm on the Supermen at the momnt trying to complete them. I've picked three George Reeves, Christopher Reeves and the other Guy. I will include Dean Cain and the TV superboy guy as well but a bit later. It's interesting for me to paint the three as it will test my originallity
Sounds great,I live near Metropolis,Illinois and we have a huge celebration down there each june.Noel neil the original lois Lane is given keys to the city and sci fi actors come down, last couple of years we have had Margot Kidder,Mike Riosenbaum who played Lex on Smallville,we want Gene Hackman,Lou Ferrigno.I met Adam West and JULIE NEWMAR,got signed photos, meeting julie is the highlight of my life.just wish i could have given her a painting.
Wonderful, to get more than ten people in the Valleys of Wales to show interest in Sci / Fi would be like collecting rocking horse dung. Only now would we get say 50 people to attend an art exhibition
I have lots of interest in my work but here it’s all post industrial mentality I have shown many times to youngsters who are interested in portrait art but adult painting courses are full of Landscape nuts like my wife. They carry impressionism to new levels mind I should not critique as my wife paints wonderfully, within her limited scope never wanting to expand or grow.. If she reads this I’m in for a mouthful.
Thank you, well I know no different, I've use acrylic and that was OK and I've also done Oils, but watercolour it seemed to work. I became more confident as I did more and more, it is defiantly a practice thing and also a impressionist thing. I work at it every day. I study faces and look for the original and try were possible to use watercolour not in a dull way but bright and life. Like my likeness skills are now so good I can copy photo completely or other artist work not just the paintings they do, but the style of brush work and techniques. I'm not Art school taught and I'm not a bad painter, although an art teacher could spot that I'm self taught straight away, but that helps me because I have no fear, nothing is impossible I have and will paint anything and everything. I'm open to all request and challenges. Have ago I will help you from afar with honest and fair opinions. I never flatter to get you to like me.
Thank you, a part of my young days of moving into a new house just being married and watching it on a rental TV 19" or 45cm and now I watch it on a 37" 90cm how things have changed.
