Under the paiting is the whole head and the hat and his shoulders I had to darken it 5 times to get it like the phot from the film. It's strange that some colours are there that even I would not have guess before I painted it. There's a lot of green and blue in there over paint mode (glowing) rather than being under paint.

:8) *xD

Thank you most of the colour is from reflection the light from a container plant, He is about to see a vampire so I wanted him to look as though he had fear. Mind saying that the photo of him was quite good mind a little different, but he's a good actor with emotion on his face. :8) 8o|

Thank you, to me now painting is as easy as drawing I pick up a brush and draw what I see and most times I get the painting better than the original photo or completly different because I might see something in it that the photographer might miss. ART such fun and enjoyment better than TV or films, mind I watch a lot of both for ideas. :8)

Thank you, Portraits are about making you the viewer happy. I like to make people say how does he do it. I also like for my work to be noticed to have a stlye and stand out from the crowd. Originallity is my most important advise. way above skill and technque skill and technique can be learn but imagination and originallity can't. :8)

Thank you, I used the watercolour more in an Oils kind of way, placing large blobs of colour and relying on dark shadow colour like green. :8)

Thank you, I like it as well, somwtimes it just happens the magic works. Green came into it, Green? Yes I was suprized by it, but it seems to work and a colour thing is called a spot why? I have no idea but it happens. :8)

Thank you, Not all the face is always flesh coloured or shdow is not always black. Under the darker side is a full drawing and half painting in colour then I applied layer of darker shadow colour such as neutrul tint, sepia 609 and Payne's grey. A good way of using gouache watercolour is for shadow or see through thing is is more translucet Also there are more colour tones I like to use what they call pure paint instead of mixing it, the coloures are more vibrant. Again appoligies for the boring bit. Brian  :8)

Thank you, Just thick ordinary watercolour paper Windsor and Newton 100lb / 220 gsh A4 paper I paint mostly wett to wet to start then after dry I do what is called dry work it makes the colours vibrant. I have other papers for differing jobs thicker for very wet on wet and thinner for dry work. I hope that is Ok and will help. Brian :8)
