Ma petite fierté :) (J'en suis plus autant fière mais c'est pas grave)! J'espère que vous allez l'aimer ! Mais malheureusement la qualité est vraiment mauvaise parce que j'ai du rapetisser l'image... :(

First it's easier for me to answer in English, so unless you object I will carry on, Very good, a move on, from your starting work. A little over drawn or not much light in the drawing. I noticed the break down on your gallery page about % My take on this is as follows, we start on your premise then, skill level is not shown. Everybody including myself had to learn drawing techniques. Many of the small errors, new artist’s have are from habit. If you want a small tip to start.

Presentation never put the name of the artist on the portrait, why because it's not Professional. Make the drawing, work for you. Here on your work, which is very good you should have put a background which is shading light one side, dark the other. Then it would enable you to keep the work lighter. Great hair, notice how it makes the right side of the face, look lighter. Try masking of areas with masking tape. To prove the background thing take new piece of paper, colour it, cut it to the shape of the background hold it on your work then using different degrees of shade or colour you can see how it helps. Ok if you want more help, just answer the comment. I will help, have a look at my work if you want. Mind if you ask any artist here for a little help they will say yes. Brian, (brianfree )  :8)

Those tips will help me a lot ! I never know how to do my backgrounds, so now I know that I should work more on theminstead of just let it blank. I can use masking tape ?! I never thought about it ! It's a pretty good idea :cute: Thanks, it's pleasant to see that I can count on other artists here :blowkiss:

It's okay for the English, I can understand the idea of the comment. Now that I look at this portrait which is a little bit old, a see the errors too. I just don't understant the line : " I noticed the break down on your gallery page about % My take on this as follows, we start on your permise then, skill level is not shown. " Could you please try to say it another way ??

The percent comment was about your use of it in your gallery comment, I agree with the fact that we all paint from passion, but the other major thing you should have included is skill ot technique as they are the tools and the others are feelings. My great ability is skills I have many little tips and ways of improving work, not making you more talented but better at the presentation thing. We start painting and drawing for ourselves but end you painting for others. I have many tips on drawing about why pencils are different I often say to youngster why?are there so many Pencils then I help by telling my take on what their for 'so if it's easy, just try to do it? Dark wash, Charcoal, Graphite, B groups, H groups, watercolour, coloured, onyx, metalic, and many others. Their are about 10 types of rubber ? I have 1000 brushes 5 sets of watercolour pencils that I use everyday, 6 of watercolour tube paints, 3 of pan type paints and I use all of them so it's also an equipment thing. Brian  :) :8)

This comment made me smile, because I have no material. When you describe your equipment, I'm a little bit amazed, because I use some printer sheets and 2 pencils : a 4H for the first lines, and a no.2 HB for the rest. And I just have gouache for the paintings :D So that's why I try to be a little bit more creative for my drawings by using all tools I can  But, I think that , for the moment, I just draw for the pleasure and I don't really need a big equipment. Oh, I NEED only one pencil ( and I think about it each time that I draw something ) : A fat pencil (crayon gras, in French, but I don't know if it's the same in English...) that would be very useful for the dark places... I should do as 2 of my friends : Buy a case of like 8 different pencils... that would do a pretty good equipment :xp:

Imagine a guy turning up at your door and saying I'm here to service your car and all he had was a spanner and a screw driver. Ok he could do it!but imgaine how difficult it would be for him. The equipment you talk about is OK and it makes your ability all the more amazing. But I'm not saying you need all of it at once. So I suggest for you, would lift you from a very good drawer to and excellent drawer. Most skills can be done with a H and a low B pencil but with difficulty, drawing is about light and dark and emotion. You have talent! join a club they will help you and give you some equpment, if I was nearer I would send you some. Your very talented don't under value your ability. Gouache paint is great. One brush, one watercolour pencil, a crayon gras or B6 to B9 pencil, the paper is OK. Have Fun. Brian  :8)
