Outstanding Rick! It looks so real! I like the moustache! And the wrinkles of his left eye! Did you do that with your nail trick? Looks really great! :whip: :whip: :whip:By the way...you know that Biggs is playing golf with an AVATAR???? :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

 JRFortson - 11/05/09, 21:56 reply
ahh, yes...and now for ViviStar!!! Um..no mail for eyes, just hair line and stash. I draw the wrinkles, then shade with a stump, THEN I mold my kneaded eraser to a knife edge and highlight just ONE side of the wrinkle :guffaw: :oO: Oh, the golf thing and the avatar thread huh? Kinda like SNIPE hunting in boy scouts. Took her 3 days to google the meaning?!? :guffaw:Yeah, she's having a little fun with that. Very sweet woman...so are YOU!!! :hi: :blowkiss:

 vividec - 11/05/09, 23:20 reply
Hey thanks for the SWEET! :blush:Now don't you laugh but I'm still trying to figure out how to get an Avatar!!!! My pics don't fit in there! :laugh:Give me some advices??? :/ :/

 JRFortson - 11/05/09, 23:24 reply
I just changed mine too! I get bored fast! Plus, I thought the muscle shirt may make me look arrogant? Ok...the avatar MUST be no bigger that 500x500 dimensions. You need to have a photo software that allows u to reSIZE a photo. I just make sure no one side is larger than 500 tall or wide, and SHAZAM!!! That help? Maybe you should ask ole BiggZY for help? :guffaw: Says she has a wooden laptop!! :guffaw: :guffaw:  :oO: :hi:

John Bottom... Who's he playing with now?

 JRFortson - 12/05/09, 03:36 reply
Well, he's either playing in a well lit, VERY hot place, or before the Throne of God? I meant, the drummer for Led Zeppelin. I have a feeling, he should have packed a bathing suit? :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :oO:  :hi:

 Paladino - 12/05/09, 06:35 reply
Led Zeppelin?! Pardon, monsieur, aren't you referring to John BONHAM, who, even Neguinho da Beija-Flor knows, is really playing before the Throne Of God? :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw:

Looks great here too! Great stuff Mate! Don't know if its the paper change or what, somethings different, WOW different! Go look at your gallery as a whole, you'll see what I see! They really stand out!

 JRFortson - 12/05/09, 03:33 reply
Hey Sal...I KNOW something is different? I'm trying to figure it out myself? The last 3 I used Bristol board (Chase, Selleck & Cleese) I noticed a HUGE difference in how Bristol reacts to Graphite!!! It works lighter, so I work with mostly B, 2,3+Bs, and the blending is slow, but more forgiving if you accidentally drag you stump over some dark and into some light. The reg Canson and Strathmore medium and smooth papers just didn't let me get the small details either. I will NEVER use anything but Bristol? I just gotta stock up on the darker pencils now?  :hi:

 Supersal - 12/05/09, 07:32 reply
I think I got to get me some of that Bristol, they all look great!

lol...thanks master, but but I was hoping for a few more smileys?!? :guffaw: :oO: No one can draw fishnet stockings like YOU!!! You know, I started using Strathmore's Bristol Board paper, and I see a difference? It takes a little getting use to, because it works lighter, but is more forgiving. I'm sure you have used it? I thought Morgan Freeman was you next one??? :hi: :whip:

 JRFortson - 12/05/09, 23:33 reply
it's Bristol, by Strathmore. It works light, so you need to use dark pencils. Also, it is more forgiving if you rub over dark to light. I think it's smooth surface allows for richer tones? Try it? Bet you love it!!! :hi:  :blowkiss:

really nice job Rick! Good tone and quite different from the textures you conveyed in your Gleason and Stiller drawings... so...kudos!!

 JRFortson - 16/05/09, 05:45 reply
hey thx John...yeah, I was kinda surprised at the different tonal values this one had? I think it was a combo of using Bristol board, lighter pencils, and the good photo I had? I used Canson Medium tooth on those. BIG diff in paper!!!

All my congratulations ! It's a wonderful portrait. Teeth are not easy to draw. The eyes and the nose : well drawn. "A fish called Wanda" is probably is best film. :oO: :oO: :oO:    :whip: :whip: :whip: :hi: :hi: :hi:
