Very cool Brian. I was considering painting him, too. He is a successful Australian actor. His career started back in the 60's. Also being an Aborigine. He was true to his heritage. He dislike the city and lives with his tribe among the poor.
Thank you, yes a little difficult if I say it was easy then, I look like a bighead, but it was easy. It like a child if you learn to ride a bike, we like to show off! For me I like to make the subjects better than a photo, with this portrait I hope I caught his ethnic roots the spark that makes him a very old man look great soul.
I painted them as on the photo he was very ill at the time with heart problems I think he's OK now but it gave me great insperation to paint the eys I new from the moment I picked up the brush it was going to be Magic.
Thank you, I use Acrylic paint on the eyes and lips so that I can add more watercolour and up the colour contrast. Also I'm not affraid to use the different tones in the white of the eye I also use a very light grey to enable the shine to show more. All skills and tricks to learn once learn they caan be practiced and refinned. Brian Eyes have to be the best part of the painting because they are the first thing we look at and judge so they have to be life like not bigger or have to much colour just enough to make you think they are real.
