Oh thanks so much it is a pleasure to draw Dakota I absolutely love this girl and her talent is over the top as well I love all of her movies no exceptions!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi James I will be away for a week camping so I won't be able to comment on the new drawings for a few days. There is no internet access there so I will be waiting to see your new work and keep creating happy you like my work!!!
Yes my husband is off to our seasonal campground and I am home alone. That means I may get to do another color one of Dakota. I hope you will just go for it Rick I know you will excell and if you don't please keep trying just use any medium you want. I like the pastels for the soft way they blend. It is really theraputic in a way. Go for it Rick!!!!!!!
One word of advise given to me from my best teacher and mentor in Art. Remember there is a lot of black and white in colored work. That should give you a big heads up. Just add a tint and do a black and white basically. Now you know the rest of the story!!!!!!!!!
Dear Rick, I will be away for a week going camping in the wilderness. No internet. So I will be unable to post or comment. Good luck on the new teaching gig and hey keep me posted on the venture.
I am exagerating though. We have a nice camper with a pop out on the Tippicanoe River in southern Indiana. It has air conditioning a microwave and we are close to my second home Wal Mart. So we will be boating on the river and enjoying being away. In comfort!!!!!!!!!
lol they just built a SUPER Wal-mart 1/2 mile from me a year ago. "If they don't have it, I don't need it"? I should just have my checks go to direct deposit there?
I heard that Rick same here!!! have a great week I will be floating in our 16 ft. Starcaraft boat he will be fishing I can read but art oh well on the waves I guess not!!!!
Remarkable drawing pastels my friend Christine, what a pleasure for my eyes, it is really lovely and beautiful, I love your drawing and releasing the soft, very well drawn as usual, congratulations, mille bisous filled tender my great and dear friend Christine
It is so much fun to be able to do this art work I have put it on the back burner for so long. I raised five beautiful children and now I have time to do just what I have always loved that is to draw the entire family and all the movie stars who have entertained me all my life. I will be looking forward to more of your beautiful work Anne and thanks for always being there to cheer me on!!!!!!!
you know I t'apprécie so my friend Christine, I like a lot what you draw, a real pleasure for my eyes, and portraits of your children to me so I will be abstaining for 3 days, but I will think of you, billions of congratulations on your drawing that charmed me greatly and billions of tender kisses and my very dear friend Christine
Dear old friend you are so loyal I just love doing the nice portraits they are very special to me. These actors and actresses have entertained me all my life and I think that is awesome. Even in my fedble attempts to give homage I feel privileged to try to pay them back in some very small way!!!
Yes she did grow up in front of our eyes. I am so happy to have a friend like you Jeanette. I hope someday we can visit together it would be such a great bonus in my life.
As your friend I reccomend IlDivo if you ever get a chance to hear something magic it would be their concert. No way to discribe them but MAGIC no wonder the shows sell out a year in advance. My sister gave me the most incredible gift she could ever have given. Draw them Jeanette they are on my web site here on stars!!!!!
Oh thanks Jud good to hear from you and please keep creating those wonderful works of art I really look forward to seeing your work on this fabulous site. This has to be the best on the internet!!!!!!!
thanks Paladino good to hear from you. I like the pastels it is very easy and fun to work with these were soft pastels I even used some ordinary childrens drawing chalk!!!!!!
Yeah, my fav. technique is pencil, but I like pastels a lot... And about children drawing chalk you refer, is it wax crayon? If it is, I have in my gallery 2 jobs with it ('Anthrax' & 'Nicko McBrain') and for me it's very fun to work with, too!
Oh, yeah, wax crayon seems more pastels than chalk... Anyway, I mean, chalk, wax crayon, etc., I like all these techniques cause they're a bit unusual in art in general, as well as, for another example, ballpoint pen, with which I'm willing to do something soon...
I like pastels because they are subtle like the realisitic look as well. Good to hear from you Rupin thanks for joining facebook it is really nice to see what all in the group are up to like being in the same room just carrying on a conversation!!!!!
Thanks Chantal. I use a touch of soft pastel keeping the pupil highlights. then when it is nearly done I come back into it with just regular graphite mechanical pencil dark lead. It makes it more real.
A good investment is to buy a set of pastel blenders. Get good soft pastels and some of the oil pastels for added color it is like grease paint and fun to use sparingly though!!!!
yes Chantal the oil pastels are very tricky. If I didn;'t use the lighter fluid to make them melt into a semi liquid form like oil paint but easier to move about it would have been very messy. It is fun to try though and do it with practice sheets. You may like it. The soft pastels are nice and used with the colored pencil for detailing it is really a nice mix using it with the pencils. I like the pastel pencils too.
Oh forgot to say you can bring out the highlights in the eye a bit with photoshop2 by using the doge tool it will give it a little more punch as to a highlight.
WOW the Ildivo concert was magic the best I have ever experienced. If you like big sound and a wonderful evening you will love them. Several artists have drawn them here. Me included. WOW worth all the money and more!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes and try to draw IlDivo the four guys are really famous. I just went to a concert last night. It was the best music I have ever heard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shahin wow the concert was a huge sucess. I will take a couple days to come down off this high. Wow I didn't get within 20 ft. of them to give them anything. Security in U.S.A. is very tight so I think Marge had the best chance to get close to them in Canada and Puerto Rico. I wish I had more money I would go follow them all over the world they are unbelievable!!!! They are too big to have an interest in us lowly artists though. Marge is going to a meet and greet in July on the 7th. I will try to make a small card the size of a three inch and maybe she can get close when she has a picture taken with them and slip into their pocket the small laminated card with our e-addresses on it. I hope they will check their pockets. I think that is the best way to get our info to Them and still that isn't a sure thing because I am sure they use a service to clean their suits etc. Oh well we tried.
Yes this is a good one. I used everything though. Even childrens chalks. I went nuts. I also used some graphite in the eyes to make them look more realistic. One rule don't forget there is a lot of black and white in colored pencil and pastel works!!!
