This is great. Do you attribute a colour to each personality before you start painting? For instance this one has a dark background and tones of blue and green in the face.

Your Johny Debb has courful background but stern face. Your Ma Rainey, colourful, joyful and festive. Your Willie Nelson, dark on dark. All these show personalities through your colours. I love it. :clap: :hi:

Boy, great use of color in all your work...I have only done a few like this, where local color is a secondary choice (if chosen at all). You did a great likeness, but have a real lively quality, due to all the moving color.
