Acrylics

the first painting I couldn't sell and didn't paint over - acrylics - 16" x 20" - high school art class - had a small b&w photo of Buddy, Elvis was from memory - at the time, I thought Buddy should write 'em and Elvis should sing 'em :¬D

Thanks Tom, too bad Buddy & Elvis aren't still working :D they'd probably look like Buckminster Fuller & (big ol') Brando

:hi:Buckminster Fuller I don't know, but I do get the picture :ok: :ok: :ok: :ok: :hi:

:hi:he invented the geodesic dome, wrote a bunch of books, looked like Buddy might have looked today, and could write different stuff with both hands - at the same time ! :D :D he's my hero! :hi: :hi:

 heybu9 - 05/06/09, 12:46 reply
:hi:John, why does your hero have to be so obscure? Trying to find out more, I turned to a web search, and this guy has only got 125,000 web sites listed :guffaw: Anyhow, I can draw different stuff with both hands! The right side suffers a lot and the work is very very poor, but the left side is utter garbage

 jpoulos2561 - 05/06/09, 15:32 reply
He was so obscure, I barely understood a word he said. As to dexterity, I have an even more virulent strain. All activities involving fine motor control are a violent strain. Stop me before I mention violet stains...darn! :(

 heybu9 - 06/06/09, 13:19 reply
:hi:Well, I'm keeping this short! I just can't compete with your word play :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: :guffaw: But I do enjoy it :hi: :hi: :hi:

 jpoulos2561 - 06/06/09, 22:04 reply
not Brighton...I'm in South Carolina by way of New York to Georgia and back again...it's the southeastern seaboard...where is your family living? :hi: :)

 heybu9 - 06/06/09, 22:42 reply
:hi:Excuse my ignorance if I'm wrong, but is that what I know from the movies as the "Deep South"? Even if not, still a lot different from New York surely? We're here in Northern Ireland. You may have heard of us a while back on your News! At the moment we are in the country-side, and you will love this...our nearest village is called... Donaghadee     :laugh:Not many people can pronounce that one correctly!! So little by little we will find out about each other. Great site this eh? Talk to you again, John :hi:

 jpoulos2561 - 07/06/09, 20:35 reply
most commonly referred to as Mid-Atlantic States - deep south would be Gulf Coast - Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana - but South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, & others are sometimes called deep south - Atlanta is very cosmopolitan and only 140 miles south of here - Charlotte, North Carolina is likewise 'big city' - about the same distance to the north - all indeed very different from New York - but, the world shrinks daily in many ways doesn't it? Let me guess - DON-na-GOD-dee or don-NAGH-ah-dee ?? It would take years to teach the real why-where-when-how of Northern Ireland versus England or any of our conflicts - I guess it's only the wide-eyed naive who want to know, "Why can't we all just be friends?" "Because I LOVE Celine Dion and you listen to Metallica! We go for our guns at the drop of a hat or else we ignore a miileinium of injustice. It IS a great site...don-AH-ga-dee? best to you & yours Tom. :hi: :hi:

:hi:Boy, raised on Hollywood films, how exciting all your place names sound. I hope some you mentioned still don't have Rod as Sheriff. A lot of our problems stemmed from us still having lots of Rods. O.K., there was no skin colour to help them, but they still had their ways and means. So sometimes they got it wrong but usually said "sorry" to the surviving families!!! Still, that's almost in the past now. Those who were Terrorists are now either Politicians or Gangsters now!! Don't start me , I don't have the time or technique as I use one finger typing and it's soooo slow :hi: :hi: :hi:Talk to you again, John. All the best :hi:

 jpoulos2561 - 12/06/09, 18:41 reply
Hope you're feeling better. LOOKS like you are. All the new work...it's great. Love the Errol Flynn too. I'm sure sheriffs named Rod still abound from Texas to Tennessee, they're hard to...defeat. I once got a ticket in a little town in Virginia from a Deputy Dog named (and I am NOT making this up) Clyde Hogg! :hammer: :D :D :D :hi:

 heybu9 - 13/06/09, 11:42 reply
:hi:Hi John, yes I do feel a lot better, though I'm still awaiting test results. By the time they tell me my health problem, it will have gone!! Hope you were able to keep a straight face when speaking to Boss Hogg    :hi:

 jpoulos2561 - 13/06/09, 15:26 reply
Good. Good! And the 'luck of the Irish' to you mate! Officer Hogg understandably had a huge chip on his shoulder and was watching very carefully for the slightest smirk. So, I squelched it. Ten-Four! :D :hi: :hi:

two colors for two legends of the rock'n'roll ... it reminds me of the pairs of creepers (suede shoes) I had when I was an adolescent - namely, one blue pair and one red pair !   :hi: :hi: :hi:

 jpoulos2561 - 11/07/09, 21:10 reply
Didn't we all wear creepers then! I had a friend who really tried to emulate Elvis. He said he had his hair all done up one day and was standing there trying to look like "E" when he felt a trickle of Vitalis (ancient hair tonic) trickle down his forehead! :D :D :D :D
