Glad you like this one as well it is not so colorful as the others but I think she is playing an Amash girl and the colors were muted I decided to do it that way too!!!
Thanks Maq this is a great compliment coming from a great artist as you are. I absolutely love your understanding of form and your knack of getting it so perfect with the lines and contours of your drawings it is very hard to get that effect and you have mastered it to perfection.
Colored pencil becomes like a water color wash when you use a smudge stick like with graphite use a hard stump and lighter fluid in a small cap. Apply with either a water color brush or the hard packed smudge stick. Don't have to use an extreme amount of colored pencil either it extends the usage and can make the colors bright like oil paint. Not in this one though it was of an Amish girl so the colors are muted here.
Prisma Colored pencil has more wax content and is more vibrant so try them they are very nice to work with I use Bristol medium weight paper smooth it is sturdy and if you do a lot of erasing you should try stonehendge paper it has a cotton content and used to be used for print making it is very strong and will accept both wet and dry applications. Very nice to know you ginxy keep in touch!!!
thank you for your time unfortunately, where i come from, there is not a good selection of drawing materials. i am using faber-castell water- soluble colored pencils and they do have this effect, but you can´t smudge them well enough without water and when you add water, it is hard to keep details. thank you, anyways

yeah, it is always nice to meet new people, your globe must be covered with little red dots, hehe (just kidding). i bought some new colored pencils and some stronger paper, so i will give it a try
