Very good nisce feature good shading also the likeness is very good. To help you think of light and dark this is a thing in drawing you will hear all the time the light in your work is great but to become more a more rounded drawer try a little darker areas. OK also background if we look at your drawing the two sides are very good if I wanted to show more light on one side of the face I would darken the background this would lighten the face. Try a little expeiriment take a peice of paper shade it darker and hold it to your drawing see if what I say is true about dark background. The other thing I normally talk about is the leaving of white paper for light but your very good at this. An artist is only as good as the tools he or she uses so I colected the whole range of pencils from 2B to 9B in lead and graphite, I used charcoal but it not as important. :8)

Thanks for the advice! Everytime I want to put darker areas on my drawings, I'm scared to miss all the drawing. I'm used to work with only one pencil, so I don't know how to do with many pencils... Should I take similar degrees pencils (example: 2B,3B and 4B) or pencils with a big difference of degrees (example: 2B,5B and 9B)? Would it be good if I do the same thing that I'm used to do but with a darker pencil (like a 5B)? For the background, I'll try the dark area behind the light area of the face to create more contrast and to emphasize light on my next portrait. Thank you very much! :blowkiss:

Ok two pencils a 2B and a 6B also a putty rubber. Later try a cheap set of graphite pencils they are very good and can be shaped to have board ends for doing larger marks on the paper. Also graphite block which is normally a piece of graphite 2cm X 2cm X 8cm long. it is good for doing background also graphite dust but don't buy is just save you old pencil when they are to short crush the lead middles and use the powder. OK these are all skills and techniques for now just use your single pencil and draw a bit smaller on A4 paper copy paper for practice and pad paper for work to keep. All boys love toys but as a girl you will need a small amount I have many sets of things from birthday presents and gifts. Ok learn to place paper on the work to shield the background I would do it at the begining to build up you have the basic idea I can tell from your answer. You have talent be confident I can not I can't. Brian. :)

When I look at your work it will seem as though I'm mean with praise, I have a little system: 1 clap= good, 2 claps= very good, 3 claps = Excellent, 4 claps = Wonderful, 5 claps = wonderful with great technique only ever given two. So that's my system not mean just easy. Brian,

Thank you! I have a 2B and a 6B pencil because I have a cheap set of 12 softlead pencils from 2H to 8B. Also, I have a kneaded eraser and I think I have a graphite block... That's good!
