wow...quick reply, ha! You hit the darks better and is there really a better style than another? To each their own I say? I like and can do sketchy stuff too with cross hatching showing. I like that. Just MAKE yourself draw again! Want inspiration? Google a photographer named MARTIN SCHOELLER! Thanks where I got this one, and MANY more of his to come!

Well, there is much to say about that, ha! First, not only is it "my style" to do just the head and some neck, but I crop off the top of the head, like they do in newspapers. It looks better framed, but a side bennifit is that there is less hair to do. If I do someone with short or little HAIR, it's faster. Also, teeth take longer too. AND I keep them so thit it's about 6 inches from the hair line to the bottom of the chin (8x6). I read that even 20% larger takes 50% more time. I'm not in a race, but I get bored FAST with the same one, so it works out? Then there is the outline method I use. It takes 3 minutes, but saves a HOURS of guess work an erasure time for the space between features. There is more, but I'll be doing a tutorial on that soon
a new portrait and so soon , you are fast , but your portraits are always so detailed and lifelike
love the likeness , it's perfect and skin is so soft
really beautiful eyes and lips
very very beautiful ! a real masterpiece , everything is so great
Yes my dear JR a work shop can give you a real shot in the arm as far as creativity is concerned. You can also get some good input on how to conduct your class what to do and what you didn't like so much. I like a workshop where the artist demonstrates. Even if they use an outline of the face then do the shading with the class. Also have your people bring along one of their finished pieces so you know where they are in their progress. If someone is better than yourself incourage them to share their knowlege too it is a real nice way to learn as much as everyone can.
I was kidding I didn't learn anything, nor did I expect to. I just went to have a long weekend to myself, ha! Good ideas on the class thing. If they don't get at least 5 people who want to take the class, it will be canceled, but I don't really care?
I dought that! Both this one and William Macy showed me I can do better by putting another hour or 2 into a drawing, after I normally would have thought it was done? I'm discovering, it is ALL in the blending, rendering and shading?!? Thanks dear sis! I am posting a surprise drawing tomorrow for our dear sister A-M. She knows, but not who it is Be sure to stop by
YIKES DUDE! i saw "Hotel Rwanda" the other day and this is chilling, he is so real ..... oh heck, ALL your portraits are real! DUH! But gees, his eyes... WOWY FACTOR!!! i lovey! very muchey!!!

Holy Smokes, delete this quickly before wifey sees it!!! i would love to hear your voice... i know you have a hot bod with great tatoo... LET ME SHURRUP, this is starting to sound as if i am coming on to yah... sorry, but i can't help it, if a man is handsome, its all my eyes fault i am going to look away now...
