I was inspired by the photo of this one, but it ended up being a difficult draw because of all the details, ha! I was also torn on drawing the background, but did because it brought out the white whiskers on his left cheek.

Good question! I USUALLY use no more than a (only Straedtler pencils) 2B because anything higher is too soft and become too waxy. I would rather press harder with a harder pencil...BUT the paper you use is critical. I ONLY use "Strathmore Bristol smooth 300 series (Google it?) It's the BEST!!! :ok: :grin: :hi:
