Thank you, Anne-Marie. It is great to be back online, after 11 days of not being able to access the web with my desktop computer. I kept busy drawing, though. I have 7 more drawings I haven't submitted to this site, yet. The last one I did, two days ago, made 50 portraits I have drawn since I started doing this back in March.
Neat like your white on black too!!! I think it is fun to do the reverse art isn't it fun. I was using white colored pencil, some white charcoal, white watercolor pencil and just ordinary childs chalk. The only problem I confronted was when I sprayed fixative on the drawing it did fade some of the shading that I did with the white chalk. So if you do more don't use ordinary chalk. It looks great but when fixed it fades.
Yes, I do enjoy working with the white on black paper portraits. They don't take as long to do. But, as you know, one must proceed cautiously, as removing the white "stuff" is next to impossible if it gets into the grooves of textured paper. Also, as you already know, smooth paper won't hold the pastels or chalk. Spraying it is the disappointing part...seeing half of your work dissolve before your eyes.
