(Born Apr. 14, 1941) Julie Christie is a English Academy Award-winning film actress. Her first major film role was opposite Tom Courtenay in Billy Liar in 1963 and Laurence Harvey in Darling (1965), for which she won an Academy Award as Best Actress. In the '70's Christie starred in such films as Robert Altman's McCabe and Mrs Miller (1971), The Go-Between (again co-starring Alan Bates, 1971), Don't Look Now (1973), Shampoo (1975), Demon Seed (1977), and Heaven Can Wait (1978).
