Madonna is an Italian-American Grammy Award winning Pop and Rock singer. Making her debut in the early 1980s, she has become the most successful female solo artist of all time, selling over 275 million records worldwide. Madonna has been a hugely succesful singer, but she is a woman of many talents. Her photo-book was a great commercial success although panned by many critics. Madonna has also appeared in a variety of films including Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), In Bed with Madonna (1991) and Evita (1996). Madonna has recently written several children's stories.
